Yeah thats right, they wanted to cancel the figures that brought colonialism like Christopher Columbus, Captain Cook ect.
Ok well according to most articles I am reading it seems it is. The next targets of cancel culture are figures like Lincoln and Washington.Columbus was not a very nice guy. Tried to enslave the people who were helping him, and tried to scam the Spanish King and Queen. Didn't go well for Chris. On the other hand, Cook was generally well regarded by the people whose lands he visited. Even when he was killed in a fight over some stolen wood, the Hawaiians treated his body with respect that would be given to a king or a high priest.
European discoverers were not all thugs, although some of them certainly were.
