I find that since working, missing special days like the church baptism, days like birthdays and special occasions don't have as much meaning in my life anymore.

I turn 22 in less than a month, and I'm not even looking forward to that. I should be more thankful of the fact that I'm not spending it in a women's shelter this year, like I did last year, but I just feel like it's just another year, another number.

Well... That's all the depression I have left for today. Now it's time to get pumped up to blow things up!!

If I still see myself as young, you definitely should, too, Elizabeth. You're right, it's just another number.

We had a fun day and I enjoyed swimming and etc. It was also nice hanging out with my boyfriend all day.

Well, I hope not, for anyone's sake. My memory of how exactly everything went down because I was only 7 years old then, but, I remember how panicked my mother was and how solemn the doctor was when he saw what I suppose was some kind of precursor to melanoma on my waist, and he cancelled all of his afternoon appointments in order for me to stay there and have it removed right away. So it must be something pretty bad. .... What I do remember pretty clearly was screaming like a little girl (of course I was seven, so I guess that'd be normal) when they put a needle into that area on my waist without clear warning and I saw blood just fountain everywhere. And then my mother had to calm me down by reading The Cat in the Hat to me while the doctor and his nurse worked on me.

... You know, it dawns on me saying that just now, i should really call my mother and tell her I love her for doing things like that for me. She didn't always do the right thing as a parent, but, I think the positive things she did clearly outshine the negative.

..... Sorry, I may be subtly preaching to all of you out there as well to tell your parents you love them for how they took care of you when you were children - all the little things like the one I mentioned above - if you haven't ever done so.

Seriously, though, I did not have an eventful Fourth of July. It rained and rained, and we had to drive from where we to home, where...it was also raining. No fireworks this year, at least none that I know of. I would very much like some independence and freedom from my own mind and from the decadent culture around me. Maybe Sunday can be a make-up day? I hate how I can't reschedule a holiday for myself and make everyone else play along.

Freezer is demolished and cleared OUT. Now things can progress.... Painting where the freezer was, and retouching where the masonry paint was scraped off, doing the last bit of mudding, a little painting around the receptacles, and then it will be time for the floor. Then measurements can be made for the bookcases.

I'm also making a Fairyland playlist. So far, it's looking like this (in no specific order):

Long, Long Time Ago from the Pan's Labyrinth soundtrack
The Ash Grove - Laura Wright
A Night in Fairyland - Narsilion

Aubade - Mirabilis

Sifting through Enya, Narsilion, Secret Garden, Adiemus, Mirabilis, Dead Can Dance, and the Elder Scrolls soundtracks should yield a superabundance of material.

Yes! I had originally begun a Pre-Raphaelite playlist, but it became too large to manage, and I found that almost anything Secret Garden made fit the bill perfectly. This playlist is more particular.

I remember now why I hate movie theaters, I get motion sickness from pretty much every movie on earth. I need to stick to small TVs and watching where I can pause the movie if it starts making me queasy.

Ahh, yes, with those types of projects it can sometimes seem like there is never ending work that needs to be done, but it will definitely look very nice once you are finished! I have a goal on minimizing my belongings, so have been going through them lately, and oh, it can be rather time consuming!

I can completely understand what you mean; I have the same issue with a few of my playlists, so I have been trying to make some that are more specific to certain types of music recently too! Oh, and I love what you call your playlists...my playlist names are a bit generic, like "instrumental", "favorites", and such. I need to become better organized.

I had a nice day today with family then we went and saw some legal fireworks from a hill near a baseball game.
Hearing the neighbors doing fireworks at home now though is making me worried they will start a fire. I guess people will be more on the lookout tonight for fires though so maybe it could be put out quick if that happened... Still makes me worry a bit to hear them so close though...
