  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think I like it all (or a good portion of it). Real Mexican food is awesome though!
I'm glad it was tasty even if you didn't share with us.

Really its the opposite.

Genuine Mexican food is vile and bland.

The first time I was in Mexico I thought the food would be AMAZING..... it wasn't.

Now you find yourself a Texan with Mexican heritage and....... THAT is the food that will blow you away.

TexMex is what is normally considered The "Mexican" food people love.

Every time I've had authentic Mexican food, (and Not Mexican food from Texans with Mexican roots.) it was blah.

I dated a woman who was Mexican. Her mother could really cook. Ive had TexMex and it wasn't nearly as good.

Yes, but was she IN Mexico or did she have American influence of the south?

They don't even have to be here long, but it DOES make a difference.

I've been to different parts of Mexico and the food was NEVER good. It had potential, but it lacked spice.

Im assuming as above that it was here in America that this Mexican family made the food.

Mexican food made with southern influence IS Texmex and IS the awesome kind. The Mexican food people love is the same as what I call Texmex, its simply semantics. However, the real true mexican food I have had in Mexico.... true.... unAmericanized Mexican food is vile.

I didnt mean spice as in hot..... I refer you to the many discussions I have had about my hate of Tabasco sauce.

When I said spice I MEANT flavor.

Unless what you like is what a cow taste like without ANY seasonings or spices added.... which IS the TRUE mexican food I have had...... then you would agree about authentic mexican food not being worth the animals death.

Every one of them were born and raised IN Mexico. Her mother only knew how to cook Mexican food. They lived in Texas about 6 months before moving here and they had lived here about a year before we started dating. I know Southern food. Nothing she made was Southern.

It doesn't HAVE to be southernized. but the influence of ADDING SPICE DOES make all the difference. THAT is what Im saying.

Everyone I know that has Mexican roots and remembers living there agrees with me that TRUE Mexican food is bland.

So I have ZERO evidence in my experience to counter the bad experiences I have had with the TRUE Mexican food.
