Wow, the last game I saw my parents play was on Christmas day when I got my NES for Christmas.
I had a friend stay the night........ at 5pm they said "bed time" my friend and I were talking all sorts of trash about having a 5pm bed time...... ON CHRISTMAS the day I get my system.
Then we hear screaming and all.... we peak around the corner, there is my parents and his parents playing Super Mario Brothers, jumping in their chairs and throwing their hands up while holding the controllers like that makes the game do anything.....
Oddly, now controllers DO respond to motion and I haven't seen any old people utilize it.
Back when my sister was a young teenager, some of her friends from the neighborhood came over to play the original 16 bit NES. They brought down an Olympic game. Mom kept beating them, even though she had never played that game before. They kept saying, "Watch her hands! See what she's doing!" I shouted out, "Watch her mouth. You boys just aren't holding your mouths right". As if that had anything to do with it. I was annoying even back then.
Thing was, mom studied physics in college and the boys didn't understand that in order to achieve optimum trajectory, you had to throw the javelin at a 45 degree angle. The game was based on logic and physics. They didn't watch the screen to see the angle she at which she threw the javelin. lol
