  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

well, someone asked me to share my faith experience that led me back to Christianity, and then they proceeded to tell me that i'm self righteous and that i'm making it up to convert people. lol Um, no. The last thing on my mind was Christianity. It makes me want to keep my faith private.

That's a shame, Miss Deidre. True some Christians are unfortunately self-righteous but if someone actually asked you to explain yourself (and I would not doubt that you were honest and forthright in doing so without sounding like you were better than that person in any way) and then pegs you as self-righteous anyway then I'd say they were not really seeking the faith or even considering seeking, but just looking for an opportunity to cheaply denounce you simply because they disagreed with your faith.

Next time someone says something like that....... have fun with it.

Be completely insane with them and say things that make no sense.

For example, look them straight faced and serious. Use your best Batman voice and tell them "I'm Faithman". If you have a grapple gun, put some HID lights on it so it looks like a beam of light is pulling you up into the sky.... even more awesome.

I usually do something like that (minus the grapple gun of course ) when I am done with a conversation. (That or I simply want to be stupid for entertainment)

awesome. Fall's my favorite season. It's going slowly here, the leafs aren't quite orange yet.

And I'm good, thanks for asking. Just made my brother a snack for his lunch break, then I gotta get to work writing. The director of the project let me know our deadline to finish the tutorial is this weekend. But that's fine, I work better under pressure.
