Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Haha, I never would have gathered that from your posts. I figured since you were a good poker player that you were probably really good at hiding your emotions (at least not showing any expressions on your face).

Thats just never been my experience. Im treated like am outcast when I get emotional about something. Im mostly ignored and others will gossip about it and me rather than pull me aside and see how Im doing or try to help.

Always feel embaressed and horrible when I do cry secretly. Lol.

that emotionless blank face that shows no emotion at all.

Oops
I have lots of emotions... But my face is like that most of the time around others.

So of course - i rarely cry in front of others.

I'm not advocating breaking down in public (although there are times for that), but experiencing real emotion and sorrow is not a shameful thing. In fact, it is really concerning if a person never experiences that. That would make you a sociopath. Fighting feelings of compassion or tenderness doesn't make a guy more of a man. If anything, it will just produce a cold and brutish temperament. I have been convinced (and I won't be easily swayed from this mindset) from the moment I joined the forum, that you were trying to stifle all your natural kindness and project something totally different. I even alluded to that once in another thread about best dates. I don't know why you would want to do that though. I could see from your retro picks you posted, that you were a really nice kid.

You want me to cry? Have me watch Field of Dreams.

I balled my eyes out watching Old Yeller. I have rarely cried watching movies, but that was traumatic for me as a kid.

I try to pretend Old Yeller got better and lived a long and happy life.

For me it was 'as the red fern grows'.

That has to be one of the worst movies ever. It's horribly sad. Like, who the heck would write a story like that? Awful.

Haha, of course you would love that film.

To be fair, The Green Mile chokes me up every time as well.

...And Saving Private Ryan.
...And Pearl Harbor.
...And Lincoln.
...And many other movies.

The only movie that's made me cry is Seven Pounds, and it was the second time I watched it.

That's a heavy movie (no pun intended).

I accept Phoebe Buffay's ending to the movie "He saved them from the wolf, the end!"
