My home church is still out of town but I wonder if I should try visiting a church here in Houston tomorrow morning at Christmas? Might as well make the best of it if I can't be out of town to be with family this weekend. ^-^

OMM: Feeling really down right now. Not sure why, but today has been a struggle. I should be feeling thankful, but instead I'm feeling lonely and empty. I pray for the Lord to fill this void and take away my loneliness.

I hope this feeling is only temporary. It's Christmas, you need to enjoy yourself and forget your woes for at least a couple days. While I was having cheese fondue, calamari, and Pepsi I realize that people over in Syria and Venezuela would kill just for a bowl of rice right now. I admit, these feelings can be a downer but we should definitely count our blessings and that our troubles are going to seem pretty silly once we are on the other side of eternity.

Cheer up. God is with you even if no one else is.

Will pray for you, Lioness, right now, actually. This definitely is one of the worst times to feel down (not that there is ever a good time, of course), but I know I surely speak for everyone here when I say that our pm boxes will be open for you.

Every attempt to have my mom picked something failed. I had planned to buy her something from the doctor at work, doctor was gone by time I got there. Planned to buy something for her after clocking out. Forgot I had sent my mom home with my bank card so she could get my brother in law's gift.

And so, with four dollar bills and a couple coins, I scoured that bargain bin for dvd's. Hello, Hope Floats...

Just for the record what I ordered online didn't arrive, so I'm not *only* getting her a movie...

I've seen the light of Christ come from you on this forum more times than I can remember. You're cherished by God, his child, and loved. I know this, from my heart and soul I know this.

I can relate on the empty feeling. I often feel very empty too, including right now if I focus in on it - it's often there in some form.

You're my sister in Christ. I hope all the best things for you just as I hope all the best things for myself, there's no difference, we're one body in Christ, the church.
The church loves you, even those who don't know you. The church longs for you, the church cherishes you, you're welcome in the church's eyes, your honored and you're our sister and friend.

We sometimes fail to live as one as Christ has called us to, to love as deeply as Christ has called us to, to love a genuine love from the heart as we are commanded to. If the church did as Christ commanded, fully, we would never be alone or feel alone. It's partially the church's fault the way you are feeling right now, our sins. Forgive us. Not just me, not just Christians on CF, but Christians you go to church with and those in the world who aren't loving as Christ has called us to love.

We're all in this together, for better or worse. Christ prayed that we all be one, so that is what we are, as Christ's prayer cannot fail.

Merry Christmas sister. I pray Christ blesses you on his holy day.
