  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Now I am going back out to the garage to work on my chopper (actually I am cleaning the garage so I can have places to lay my bike out on but working in the garage does not sound as cool as I am working on my chopper).

Now if I could get some women over here we could order pizza and have a pizza party. If any of you ladies here want to show up please bring a 2 litter of soda.

Eating a bag of salt and vinegar chips while washing it down with a 1 L bottle of Coke. After tomorrow, I'm going to stop eating junk food and try to do more walks around the block before the actual winter comes.

That's nothing. Today I have drank a 2 litter of Dr thunder (Wal-Marts brand of Dr Pepper). Half a 2 litter of Cola. Half a gallon of sweet tea and just a couple of bread rolls for food. I am type II diabetic and I am not taking my meds.

I need to switch to water and dry tuna fish, lol, that will never happen, I would rather die.

I now see the importance of dating within your faith group. Man's traditional role as a leader of the household, he must have the support behind him of his wife, and that support can only come with sharing the same ideals. Unless she would be willing to convert or take up the same ideals. I haven't been in the dating scene yet, but now it just become a lot clearer, and probably more complicated in my chances of finding someone xD

I wish compatibility were that easy. Truth is, even when dating among your faith group, there can be some deeply rooted incompatibilities that don't come to the surface for years. It would seem less likely if you're both raised in the same faith group environment, but I wasn't. I converted later, and my SO was a cradle christian. In the end, it was like we weren't even of the same faith. They were cultural differences really, not necessarily theological or anything like that but I was surprised to find out how big of a role culture plays in one's psychology and perception of the world. Whatever the case, it definitely makes one reflect on what it really means to be "unequally yoked."

Now that I think of it, it's kind of interesting that Abraham sent his servant to the land of his family which he left to find a wife for his son. On the other hand, Abraham didn't really have much of a faith group, like we would think of one.

This video which I bumped into today has me thinking about the human brain, "knowledge," neural pathways, and neural plasticity, etc.:


What's even more interesting is that the brain can be "forced" into a more plastic state where it "re-configures" itself, as is sometimes reported of survivors of traumatic injuries. It's truly an amazing organ.
