  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I hate them too.

I honestly believe a lot of them are from Satan... I mean really, how could my own mind be so perfectly able to torment me? Is how I think.

I would agree about this nightmare. In the dream, right before I woke up, I said something like "In the name of Jesus Christ, shut the door, and get out!" the door then slammed shut (if I told you the dream the part about the door would make sense) and I woke up in a sweat with my heart pounding. I prayed when I woke up and was finally able to go back to sleep a bit later.

Nightmares, I hate them. I had an epic one tonight....would have made any writer in Hollywood happy.

I rarely get any nightmares anymore, thankfully. The last one I remember was years ago when I was lying in my bed in the dark trying to make out a shadowy figure in my room and then there was a blood curling scream.

I do get unpleasant recurring dreams though, one of them being where my teeth are falling out. Just last night I dreamed that pulled out a bottom tooth and saw how decayed it was. Another one was getting loose too.

I remember having a lot of what I called night terrors where I would wake up in a cold sweat not having moved at all during my sleep, even though it felt like I was running a marathon after waking up.

So yes, I have no doubt some of these are from Satan. I also recall rebuking demons in the name of Jesus in these night terrors. They fled immediately and I always wake up afterward.

There were even times I called Toro to pray with me because I was having a hard time with these dreams, and sometimes even weird things were heard through Skype. I cannot explain them, but we prayed nonetheless.

I also notice I seem to get these terrors when I have read, heard or watched too much ghost stories, lol!

I think I only had one of those kind of moments when waking up from a dream. I was a kid when it happened and it was one of the most freakiest dreams I remember having, involving a bunker hallway, a woman's decomposed corpse and a freaky looking clown with a hammer and nails.

So yes, I have no doubt some of these are from Satan. I also recall rebuking demons in the name of Jesus in these night terrors. They fled immediately and I always wake up afterward.

So you had lucid dreams? There were times where I was dreaming and I was aware of it. Every time I was in an unpleasant situation, I closed my eyes and willed myself out of it. It worked most of the time.

Lucid dreams can be pretty awesome given the right conditions.

Haha, I had a lot of movie-related dreams. When I had my old account on Newgrounds, I made a topic on the forums where I photoshopped my dreams. One person pointed out after listing the dreams inspired by movies, "I think you watch too many movies, or at least not enough porn movies."

Yeah, this is one reason I tend to stay away from horror or paranormal movies/ stories.
Yep, my aunt and Godmother, a lifelong Christian who I trust, says evil channels itself in horror movies and the like. I'm starting to believe it.

Well, yeah, horror movies are suppose to be about the kinds of evil that scares us to death. Serial killers, monsters, the Occult, these things scare most of us because they're evil and are unthinkable for many in real life.

Yikes! I hate clowns!! >.<

Yes, I do have those at times, but some of them aren't. For example, I knew when I was asleep as well and sometimes could will myself out of a situation or simply "fly" away from an uncomfortable situation. However, there were times where I couldn't do that and the only way out was to rebuke the demons that kept me there. That's the only way I can describe it.

It's ok. I just take it as a reminder to redirect my attention to God. It's easy for me to become distracted and I don't even realize it half the time. I understand the fear I had felt was only temporary because I know God is there with me.

The worst thing about nightmares is that most of the time, you are helpless in your situation. No matter how much you run, the monster always catches you. No matter how meticulous you are in your clothes and education, you will always show up to class in your underwear and realize that you forgot to study for the test. No matter how long it's been since a traumatic incident, it happens again and again in your dreams.

Now that I think about it, I can see why some here think nightmares are from Satan. He attacks us when we are at our most vulnerable like the unholy opportunist he is.

I don't suffer from dreams like that anymore. I've noticed quite a change in my life, no matter how subtle, that God is working. He's done away with those kinds of dreams, and as for the more frightful ones, that is my choice so I have learned and experienced.

Yes, it is true what you say there! Much agreed.

Just got through reading "The Girl on the Train" and I can't wait to see the movie. The book is so good. I hope he movie will do it justice.

What's it about? I may read it before the movie

Good. Like I said before, I rarely get nightmares anymore either and I too think that since life has gotten better, I have less of a reason to have such unpleasant dreams.

After reading this website, all four of my recurring dreams boil down to my own insecurities I had for most of my life. Thankfully, God is working in me too.

That losing weight is so hard is it even worth it. Food is one of the few joys I have in life.

Depends on what you have and how your body handles it. It's a learning experience when it comes down to it.

It's even worse when all the good tasting food is bad for you while all the bad tasting food is good for you.

It all comes down to choice.

Do you want to have matching socks or mismatched socks but never see them.

I kicked Dr Pepper so far with the use of green tea.

I found a mix that comes close to the cocacola product "Gold Peak green tea" using 5 tea bags of:

then after steeping cool it off and add lemons in the tea for about an hour and 20 mins.

Then let it get cold and put about 4 tsp of sugar.

Still few calories, sugar etc... than a single dr pepper. and unlike the coke version. Its actually healthy.

I use this pitcher for it. Makes 3-3.5 24 oz glasses
