Seeing more baby shower photos on facebook reminds me exactly how non-typical of a woman I am. In fact some women are offended by things I find to be clever while they do girly things that manage to offend me.
I personally find it disturbing that you would make a baby effigy out of cake or fruit expecting people to eat it.
I have issues with the idea of eating something that represents a baby.
Or to cut into a cake shaped like a pregnant belly. I personally find these things far more disturbing. I don't want a slice of your baby or of your belly. Thanks.
I find baby cakes to be gross, too. Cutting into a cake that looks like a baby is just creepy. I do like the pregnant belly cakes, but mostly as art. I even had one as a FB profile pic for awhile. If I had a baby shower, I would have preferred cupcakes, though. (Well, I prefer cupcakes to a whole/regular cake in general.) Baby showers can be very weird in general, though. I mean, candy bars in diapers as a game? No thank you. People pointing out how fat you are and wanting to guess your weight (actually happened at my sister's baby shower). No thank you.
Guesses on weight? wow. Thats really dumb and just wrong - why would anyone think that'd make for a fun shower game?
THANK YOU. I'm not the only one...
I find baby showers/bridal showers to be disturbing and I avoid them if at all possible. Sometimes they're ok, but there's usually that one awkward moment where the game goes wrong or it's just an awkward game. I HATED the chocolate in diapers game that I had to do in one baby shower...ugh!
When I was a kid I found the concept of a baby shower confusing. I didn't understand why men couldn't go and how the baby could have a shower when it hadn't even been born yet. 20 years later and they still confuse (and in some cases scare me) beyond comprehension.
Planting more herbs today, planning the veggies, and possibly a fruit tree
