I am watching a movie right now where Malcolm McDowell plays Satan and a depressed law student actually sues him for all of the misery he has caused in the world, for eight trillion dollars.


... I find this movie ... HILARIOUS.

Suing Satan, Miss Vanilla.

I don't know. Perhaps I was so fascinated by the hysterically, insanely comedic concept of all this, yet with its little nuggets of wisdom and realism hidden throughout, that I have yet to notice the poor production.

Interestingly, there was this one scene just now when the student confronted Satan as a witness and started asking him who Jesus Christ was. Satan's weak spot, apparently, as he refused to answer "God", but instead tried to intimidate him in silence with the apparition of demons. Now then, all of these demons flitting about seemed to be masculine in appearance, but then the student defied him mentally and angels began gathering around him in white. They were all beautiful women. ..... A hint of sexism here, perhaps?

You know, I'm actually not sure. Where this movie came from. Is it supposed to be Christian-themed? Or was it just meant to be some wacky comedy that might at the same time cause people to think and reflect on religion, maybe subtly hoping to expose it as ridiculous? Christian agenda? Atheist agenda? Totally innocent with no hidden agenda?

Has anybody EVER actually sold out Jesus Christ for a candy bar? And were car alarms and leaf blowers really invented by the power of hell? I would say it was a stupid joke at first. And I can appreciate that. But now, I think they're actually really serious, and selling this as such.

(As a fellow annihilationist, Matt, you probably wouldn't appreciate it any better than me right now. Oh the boogeyman stories they're telling at this very moment.)
