Just out of curiosity how many of you all use a traditional star on top of your tree? Or an angel? Or maybe something else? My husband and I use an angel, my parents-in-law and my parents do as well.

I think we have a star, by way of Homebase, last year. We've had angels for the last 20 years or so, so this is a move away from our tradition for us.

I only have a ribbon on the top of my tiny 3-4 foot tree. Next year I hope to have a much bigger tree and put either an angel or a star at the top. I would prefer to use a star to symbolise the star of Christmas though.

Angel, we kind of have a tradition in our family. Each year we have a different Angel and every year we have a different Nativity (running out of places for those) I think we have 27 now.

Mine is topped with an angel holding a star, but I voted angel.
And the angel doesn't have the tree shoved up her skirt! She's got this wire loop on her back that slips over the tree-top.

my wife and I chose to put up a family photo of us and our dog dear the top of the tree since we can't afford a traditional "tree topper"
