"not easily labelable?"

Yes! And for some reason you found a better way to say it in English. I've never thought of the reasons to why exactly I've been able to listen to both John Denver and Metallica, but at least it's not been because I'd wanted to 'label' myself as some kind of 'cross-over' person.

And what's manly and what's girly? Well I guess it's true that physics and genetics condition genders to some general differences, but they still are just *general* differences. If some girl likes to go hunting, why stifle that interest? Or a boy who likes to cook. And if guys, even Christian guys, are so obsessed about keeping away from everything that's considered 'girly' in the fear of being labeled 'gayish', then at least they won't be a very good witness of Christ to someone who is having gayish feelings and is seeking help and support from Christians.

(I didn't bother to read the other posts because I'm lazy, heh)

Gender stereotypes make me angry. I've been told that I'm not a "real woman" because I don't like kids (and am not going to have kids), and because I don't like cooking. Also, I'm going to go hunting in the near future, and I've actually heard people say "Can girls go hunting??" *head desk*

EDIT: after reading some other other posts I wanted to add this-- I hate that stupid "men are logical, women are emotional" thing. I guess I'm manly then, because I'm proud of my ability to use reason...on the other hand, I guess my boyfriend is womanly, because he reacts to things based on emotion. *sigh*

Manly: Working on anything mechanical. Taking charge. Wearing steel toe work boots.

You can't draw a line and say this is manly and that is girly. If some little skinny guy in a pink shirt, did some of the stuff i do, it would look really girly! I fly around the kitchen and am very good at cooking.

However, there are lots of guys that straight-up are useless with their hands and have NO technical knowedege of anything. I consider that to be very girly.

You do realize that just because you and your boyfriend are the exception to the rule, that doesn't mean the rule is invalid. It only makes you the exception. Like it or not, most gender stereotypes have roots in general truth. I go against the male stereotype in some ways (I like to dress well and know how to match clothes, etc), but I'm not about to go and deny that this is something guys are not known for. Because it's not!
