  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

At 17-19 weeks I felt the baby. I was worried until my 18 week ultrasound when I was told the reason I couldn't feel him is he was hiding behind my placenta.

At first it felt like pain. Everyone says it feels like butterflys or popcorn..nope not me, to me it felt like ovulation pain or mild period cramps.

Now at 25 weeks, he's moving a lot and he now feels like a baby because he's bigger, he's around 14-16 ounces now. :)

In my experience it's hard to tell at first because it's so soft and doesn't happen all the time like later on. It can feel similar to a gas bubble popping in your stomach. 1st pregnancy I felt movement around 20 weeks I think. Placenta was also in front that time so movement was muffled until she got bigger. This time around I'm pretty sure I've felt movement in the past week or so a few times - I'm now at 17 weeks.

I can't remember the exact week, unfortunately. My guess is 17 or 18 weeks... but it might have been 19 or 20 as well. Doh. I just remember my favorite part of the kicking was between 25 and 30 weeks, baby still had room for "swimming" and I could sit there and watch my stomach and it would move, or I could set something on it and the baby could kick it off.... it was so crazy to see. Then by 35 weeks he was cramped as cramped could be and then it wasn't as fun for either of us as he scraped his arms/legs/elbows/whatever along just inside my skin, it felt like scraping. It was still precious, but not as comfortable.

That's what I feel right now...the scraping kind of feeling. At 15-16 weeks I felt a little kind of fluttery feeling...then I really enjoyed the 20-30ish weeks kicking. Now it's just uncomfortable, lol. The baby doesn't have so much room to move and doesn't really kick so much, just kind of squiggles around and pushes hard against my ribs, my bladder etc...It's more of a long slow pressure than a sharp quick kick...
