if you go into the wrong section of canada they grab you and make you a presbyterian.
I thought a majority of Presbyterians belonged to the Protestant denomination the United Church of Canada? Along with Methodists, Congregationalists, and United Brethren (Yes, I know this is a joke)

I've been to every Province. My Sales territory included all of Canada. When you decide to go ....you can go 1.5 hours to the east of the eastern shore of the US. to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, then go to British Columbia on the west coast. Go to Church Hill Falls and see polar bears gathered each year. Winnepeg, where there was a Curling Club behind the hotel .....I learned that curling is an excuse for Canadians to drink beer. Go to Alberta and Red Deer to go see Horseshoe Canyon ...a site where fossils literally fall from the walls. Go to Edmonton and see the World's Largest Mall. Take the Canadian Train across the northern part of the country. In the winter, go to Yukon and dog sledding. Visit the glaciers...But ....let me warn you, do not, do not, go to Edmonton and look for and try Golden Eye. There is a reason they smoke that fish. Mullet in Florida is more likeable than Golden Eye. Took one bite, pushed it away and ordered a crepe .....

Joking now .... All of my Reps in Canada were English except one. My Quebec rep was Canadian, but lived his whole life in Quebec. Jean Guy had to visit the US. Had to come down to Florida. He gave me a list of things to do and see. Things to eat ...Jean Guy was a BIG John Grissom fan. He thought the south was exactly as Grissom had written ...... trouble is .....Florida is located there, but they are not the south.

One thing Jean Guy commented on surprised me. Because I had never thought of it ....His comment

In the south, when a woman passes you, she will smile. Women don't smile on the streets or in passing in Quebec. I came back "That's because you are so bundled up to beat the cold, no one can see your faces."

Not living there but a friend just visited. Reported: awesome views, 2-fish n chips $70, amazing what they accomplish or have accomplished with so little, the numerous quick bush plane trips, and the people are very proud of their traditions.

I've been to Canada a number of times. It's mostly true that they are nicer people than most Americans. Toronto is beautiful in many places, but I think the people of Vancouver are the friendliest of the Canadian cities I've visited.

I've lived all over the U.S. and far as I can see, the ratio of nice people to jerks is pretty constant. There are, of course, in every region, people who detest anyone who isn't from their region. But they are a bitter, unhappy minority, in my experience.

When I was a very young adult, I went to New York City to look around. We got messed up on the bus system and an old woman noticed. She explained what happened, and then went with us until we were back where we needed to be. Not what we had been told to expect.
