• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Those of you who struggle with porn, I have an answer that will help, but you may not be willing to do. You need an accountability partner. Find your best friend who probably knows you struggle with porn. If no one knows, find someone who is a good friend who won't judge you and will be willing to help.

1) Get the junk off your computer! There are parental codes and passwords that can be put on your computer that will prevent you from going on X-rated sites. Have your friend set up a parental lock and password on your computer that he or she will never tell you! Delete all saved porn on your computer.

2) Burn all the tapes! Have DVDs? Break them in half. Have tapes? Rip the tape out of the cassette! Have your accountability partner help you!

3) Stay away from liquor stores! I'm pretty sure Kroger or Farmer Jacks doesn't sell porn, but liquor stores do. STAY OUT OF PLACES THAT YOU KNOW SELL IT! THERE'S NO REASON WHY YOU HAVE TO GO IN THERE!

You have to take the initative to get rid of your porn addiction. You can't sit back and wait for God to deliver you of it. If you feel like watching porn, call your partner up on the phone, talk for awhile, go out to eat, leave the house...but don't stay home alone. Soon enough, the temptation will pass!
