hello all,

over the last few months I have embraced Traditional Chritianity and have been exploring it ever since......I was lead to Eastern Orthodoxy first and have attended several of there services but have not made a commitment yet....something inside me still wants to check out the Roman Catholic Church.....I can't really explain why but it is something I feel I must do.....so my questions is what do you like about being Catholic?? no deep response is nessesary, unless you want to......just a quick idea of what makes you wake up in the morning and say "i'm a Catholic and I am glad!".....i find when I read about other's experiences I get a good idea of what the faith is about......

Well I was raised Catholic and then left church all together, but now I'm back but only recently so I can't really offer you something deep and inciteful. What I can tell you however is that before coming back to Catholicism I checked out some other denominations and they all seemed to be missing something, or just didn't seem right. I just feel that being Catholic I am recieving the true message. That could just be my pride talking though.

I know what you mean, I felt the desire to be Catholic from deep inside of me too :)

I like being Catholic because I like being part of the Church established by Christ. However, my involvement with the Church is not about what I want or even like, but what God calls me to.

Coming from Protestentism, basically, I love everything about it.

I love the fact that I am now part of the Origional Church that Christ esablished on earth. If any Christian denomintion research it's roots, it lands up at Catholocism. It's how Jesus wants us to live and worship Him. He does not bend to suit our needs, we must change and start living for him....hence my conversion to Catholicism. :)

The Eucharist.....The Fact that Christ is made present on earth, and me being able to take part in that is just astounding!

Having all 7 Sacraments, escpecially the Eucharist and Confession!

Basically, having life make sense to me now. Since finding the True Catholic Church, life has taken on a new perspective for me. One where things are explained, and the explination makes sense...even the big questions, like "Why are we here?" (Just read our late Pope John Paul's Theology of the Body for that one!)

I understand sin and it's consequences better, amongst other things.

Generally, it's more than just a religion, it's way of life. And more than that....life explained.

It's the best thing that could have happened to me, and I owe it all to Our Lady!

Peace in Christ! :)

John 6:68 Simon Peter answered him, "Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."

John 16:13 But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth.

Matthew 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."

Sacraments, Liturgy, Prayer life, Christian love (and responsibility) towards neighbor, a 2000 year old rock that Christ promised, the Holy Family Christ lowered himself to share with us, Father, Brother, and Mother along with all the Communion of saints (brothers and sisters) on earth and in heaven.

Peace in Christ

What's there not to love? I love the fact that I have found the fullness of Truth and God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I love the Sacraments, especially the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It's so wonderful to be forgiven and washed clean.

great answers folks.....thanks alot for your input.....i have been reading alot about the Catholic Church lately, and while it is alot to take in, i am strangley drawn to it......I am in the process of checking into a Catholic church in my area.....with the Eastern Orthodox there was only 4 in my city so it was easy to just pick one.....there are like 20 Catholic parishes around so I guess I will try the one closest and go from there....

I have never attended a Mass before so if you guys have any links on what to expect that would be great....thank you all again :)

I grew up Catholic and went to a end-times seminar and considered leaving the Church for 7th Day Adventist. Then I thought; I better check out what I'm being told. When I really really started researching the bible and the sacraments and all the things the Catholic Church teaches; I came to believe that the Catholic Church was the original church that Jesus started. All the sacraments are in the new testament.

I learned from reading the book of Matthew; that at the resurection people become like Angels and God is the God of the living and not the dead. The reason we can can talk to people who are in heaven is because they are not dead they are living. (This is what I understood it to mean) Very few people could go to heaven before Jesus died. (I think only Elijah)

I also listened to Jesus tell the story of Abraham and Lazurus and how Lazuras could talk to Abraham and wanted a drink of water. This also convinced me that what the Church teaches concerning praying to the Saints and Mary is true.
