Well, it takes all sorts. Where I live, it is too hot to wear neckties most of the time unless you happen to be a Freddie Mercury fan and wear them without a shirt
Well, I AM a Freddie Mercury fan - a big one. But my admiration doesn't extend to wearing neckties without a shirt, mercifully.

For the most part, I tend to dislike clothes unless for practical use (warmth and protection).
As do I. However, rather than dislike the 'titillating' ones, I enjoy them.

Correct. It is somebody who feels that homosexuals are an inferior race of people.
Similar to homophobe?

D'oh! I should have worked that out myself. In that case, I agree - and have had a number of debates on these forums on the subject.

Well that certainly appears to be true...but then again, people have a right to expect some degree of privacy, I'd think.

Yes, many of them turn out very badly...but I don't see how that means that they were 'exploited'.

There is a thread on the Australian forum about Freemasonry, and have heard some anecdotes from others who were involved in the movement. It gave me the creeps I can tell you.
I didn't know there WAS an Australian forum. But in any case, I suspect those anecdotes might not be strictly true. I know a number of freemasons, and nothing distressing at all goes on.

I just wanted to open a talk where everyone tells something they cannot stand regarding morality. Not just that but also explain why.
Not quite sure what the question is.
I hate all sorts of morality because it tells me to do what I don't want to do. I want to laze around all day and morality tells me that I should work. I want something in a shop and morality tells me I have to pay for it. I want to harm someone and it tells me I must not. It nags all the time! I like it better when I manage to ignore it - and then it comes and criticises me for ignoring it!

What immoral things can't I stand? Foremost I can't stand those things that are immoral and also cause me material harm. Also I can't stand it when people do things and get off scott free without even a telling off from my friend morality! I work hard not to do these things, or else I do them but at least I have some punishment, and they go off and do the same things without any guilt! Then I hate it when I do something immoral, and later it makes me unhappy and also guilty. Where's the justice in that? The guilt should be worth some pleasure!

BTW If anyone points out I am a completely evil person, I already know this thank you very much.

This is not a hate column but a way for others to see peoples view on certain things happening in the world today.

I hate when people mask serious issues with trivial ones; we have people starving, and we are arguing over whether or not two people kissing is a scandal.

Children are not symbolic human beings. They are human beings. Children are not an abstraction. They are living, thinking beings.

Why do you believe children are second class citizens and at what age should children receive full status as human beings?

Adults naturally feel a great deal of responsibility towards children, which may explain why we grieve so at the death of a child.
We failed to protect the child, even if it's through no fault of our own, the guilt can be immense.

CSMR... If this is your life ethic and following of God then your reward will be greater then those who have no ethics or morality. Yet nothing good comes from anything aside from God. Invite God in and find how easy it is to follow moral standards then to reject them. Love ya bro!

What "moral collapse"?

Bellman, before you can see a moral collapse you have to know what morality is.

CSMR... this sounds like a Holy Spirit tugging... Have you ever been saved? If so may I ask how long ago? I admire your response and ethics I pray you would do the same.

From reading his posts, I'd say he has a pretty good idea.

I have some idea what morality is, although I could always be wrong, and I'm not sure I see a "moral collapse". Honestly, I think American culture is more moral today than it was a hundred years ago.

If you offer me two otherwise identical civilizations, one of which allows gay marriage, and one of which prohibits interracial marriage, I think the first is a lot closer to God's will than the second. They might both be wrong, but one of the errors is much, much, much worse.

I'll ignore the rather pathetic implied insult, and simply reply that I do. Just in case YOU don't, here's a dictionary definition:

mo·ral·i·ty ( P ) Pronunciation Key (m-rl-t, mô-)
n. pl. mo·ral·i·ties
1. The quality of being in accord with standards of right or good conduct.
2. A system of ideas of right and wrong conduct: religious morality; Christian morality.
3. Virtuous conduct.
4. A rule or lesson in moral conduct.

Now, to repeat my question - what "moral crisis"?

Seebs- the only difference between then and now is the fact that both exist whereas before it was one. Interacial intolerance is still here but we have just added the gay marriage. This is simple to see.

Now this is comedy! When a person has to refer to a dictionary to find out what morality is?

The quality of being in accord with standards of right or good conduct.
Does the dictionary determine this as well?

A system of ideas of right and wrong conduct: religious morality; Christian morality.
Hmmm now we are on to something.

As I recall no dictionary created morality so how can they truly define what it is without God? The "morality crises" I speak of has been proven here. It is a morality crises when the dictionary is consulted in place of the bible.

Do you not bother to read people's posts? I stated that I knew what morality was, and supplied the dictionary definition in case YOU didn't.

No, it doesn't. Why would it?

All4one said:

The dictionary defines the meaning of english words, not the bible or god.

All4one said:

No, it hasn't. That's what I'm asking you to demonstrate.

All4one said:

No, it's not. The dictionary is the reference for the meaning of english language words, not the bible.

Now, all dodging, implied insults and so forth aside, I'll ask again:

What "moral crisis"?

I absolutely detest prideful, pompous, arrogant behavior toward those others dont understand. Oh...and though your question was not directed at me, I think by moral collapse he might mean abortion issues, gay marriage, stem cell research, etc. Which are moral issues for Christians.

Yes, I suppose so. When? I don't know about that. As a progressive realisation, at the beginning of time, in the crucifixion, in the future? But where are the fruits of it, I tell you? Follow moral standards? It's not like me to do something like that. I may follow my bad feelings about morality which I told you about, but not the true law of God; if anything is clear in my earlier post, it is that my ethics are not very admirable! Follow Christ, long and hope in the spirit for new life in the ressurection - this is more possible. Perhaps I have found the "narrow gate" and am only looking in and have not yet gone in? It seems to me that I have been given a promise, and granted forgiveness, and yet in much of my life couldn't care less about God, forgiveness, promises, or morals. Hopefully this will change somewhat. Thankfully it is the faithfulness of God we rely on and not our own.
I ramble. It is your fault, for asking so direct a question! I appreciate your concern.

They are, but they are not necessarily simple issues. The objection to stem cell research seems to be rooted in the use of embryos from abortions; I think many people are simply totally unaware that there are other ways to get stem cells!

Not referring to you at all, you ask what people disliked the most, and I stated what I did dislike, I have a very hard time with people pointing out other people's sins. If I have an affair on my wife or vice versa, I don't need people pointing out my sin, I already know I sinned, It is between me, my wife and God, Not between everyone else who thinks they need to get in the middle of it. (just using this as an example, I don't even have a wife)
When people reach perfection, then I feel as though they can go around telling other people they are sinners, but until they reach that perfect level
they should consentrate on thier own down falls, instead of everyone elses.
It is that simple to me. I don't feel I am self-righteous, I am a sinner, I know I am a sinner, I just don't go around focusing on everybody elses sins, I strive to focus on my own, and become the person God wants me to be.
basicly I stay out of others business, If they ask my opinion, I give it, But if they don't ask for it, then I don't give it. Yes, I pray for them, but I Feel the best way to make people run from Christ is to nag them and condemn them,
and to continue to point fingers at them.
Hope this explains my views.
Peace,
GMRELIC
