Something I was curious about... pretty much just musing. Another of my poems. I have several, but being as this is a christian website (although I am not christian) I think some of them shouldn't be posted... Anyway... I would love to hear criticism/reviews, or help with errors, or just thoughts. Thanks. -Amber

What Would You Do?

What would you do

If you knew you couldn’t fail?

Would you free innocent people?

Put burglars in jail?

Would you find homes for the children

who don’t have a bed,

who don’t have a pillow,

a place for their head.

Would you cure all sickness and disease?

Would you work out a plan

so that hatred would cease?

Would you put forth your best

because nothing could go wrong?

Would you be a hero –

show the world you were strong?

This world needs our help

And although we may fail

We should still work to put all those burglars in jail.

We should still help find homes

for the kids without beds.

We should work to make sure

there is a place for their heads.

We should address the problems of the sick and diseased.

So what if we tried,

and not all hatred was appeased.

We should still do our best,

though some things may go wrong.

We should still act as heroes

And show that we are strong.

Loving the world -

when the world loves to hate,

is what we all must do.

It’s not always easy,

it may cause some debate -

but this help must start with you.
