  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So why did they attempt to carry on this film? It was awesome entertainment and I was really looking forward to the sequels but..hey hey...not much there to comment about.

It is one of the greatest movies of all time.
The story was great, so was the acting, music, and fight scenes.

No real great acting I saw. Morpheus and Smith are the only ones that stand out, with the exception of Cypher. The rest just stood there and tried to act tough. Keanu just said "whoa....i know kung fu....whoa....who are you....whoa......what is the matrix.....whoa". He just had to look cool, no real acting required.

Loved the first, sat through it twice the first night we rented it. It was awesome. I haven't seen the other two, because 1) sequels sometimes just sour the first one for me and 2) Everyone who saw it said it sucked.

Wait, you haven't seen the second movie, but you said they weren't good?

Don't go on just other people's opinions. I wouldn't have enjoyed a good many movies if I did.

On a different note, but about this thread: I enjoyed the movies, but then again, I actually watch movies instead of just seeing them. (I mean, I actually study the movie, compare with other movies, and try to find out about how the movies were made). Even though I do this, I still don't expect movies to be grand, blockbuster masterpieces. I've found that people that expect great movies all the time didn't like the second or third movies, and people that just see movies (i.e. just sit for two hours and recieve visual stimuli) liked the movies only for the combat scenes (usually get the "real world" and the illusion mixed up too).

The first matrix was excellent. The sequels were very disappointing, I don't
think they where to go with the story. 2 and 3 were filled with similar action
as 1 and confusing plot lines. Take Rosenherman's advice watch only #1

Why did they attempt to carry the film on?
It was a planned trilogy from the beginning.

The 2nd and 3rd ones are not bad movies at all. Those two movies are victoms of the first one.
The first one explained everything, you knew what was going to happen ultimately, so there were no surprises.
The story itself was a refreshing story that all of us can reltate to. And that was why the movie was so much more than great songs, great action, and alot of attitude.
There are many movies out there that have great "songs, action, attitude" but the audience just doesn't relate to the story as well.

So the other two movies had great action, songs, but it lacked surprises and a new fresh story.
When you first sat down to watch the Matrix for the first time, you were kept in suspense in almost the whole movie, with many questions to answer.
This sucked audiences in and kept them on thier seats.

For a comic book type movie, the acting was dead on in the first one.
Everyone stayed in character, and the characters fit very well with the movie.
Lots of attitude, which is common amoung movies similar to this style.

Now this type of acting isn't hard at all, compared to most dramas.
