  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My wife and I are leading a new Bible study group in our church. We are starting with Proverbs, partially because it's her favorite book, and partially because we wanted to start with somethign very "hands on" and practical. We're kind of looking around tryign to decide what book to move on to next. I'm pulled to the NT, possibly Acts or Romans, but was wondering if anyone had any reccomendations, and if so, why would that book in particular be a good followup for Proverbs?

I've always found that people like alternating between books of the OT and NT, so I think you're on the right track. If you are looking for suggestions of books to build upon Proverbs, then some good NT books to follow Proverbs include Colossians or James: both weave wisdom in its themes. Ephesians does a little less so. 1 Corinthians though has a heavy emphasis on contrasting "wisdoms" in the first two chapters.

Romans would be an excellent and important book to study. It's has a lot of very important key Christian concepts. Absolutely study Romans.
Absolutely.
Indispensible.
