  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What sort of Demons are behind Mocking and Arrogance?

I have noticed the root of arrogant behaviour and people who mock seemed to becaused by insecurity.

From a spiritual point of view, we all have areas where we may struggle with confidence but it doesn't neccesaarily bear fruits if being abusive or arrogant to others.

I think you make a good point.

Often, when I am faced with something radically different from the way I think, it is easy for me to retreat into my safety zone of familiarity. "Those crazy Brits are driving on the wrong side of the road! What is wrong with them? Whatever could they have been thinking??"

I think we all secretly want to be right every time, and it is easier to resist change than it is to accept it.

Best wishes,

KT

Interesting thought. My son is often abusive and arrogant, not all the time, but at times. I have thought about trying to build his self-esteem, and trust in God's acceptance, but it is often hard.

May God grant you and your son peace and comfort!

His grace and blessings to you!
