My temper...I have the worst. It's not that I get angry alot, it's just that I'll let everythign just build up and then the smallest thing will just completely..Ugh, I'll go crazy at. And when I'm mad I say things that I normally would never, ever say.

So I guess lack of self-control, basically!

I think anger is really under-rated. most people don't think it's hard to control their anger but it's extremely hard especially when it builds up. There is a verse that just came to me when I saw the sin that you struggle with. It comes from Proverbs 16:32 "Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temperthan one who takes a city"

At 16 I was given the awesome opportunity to preach to my church. That was the subject I preached on, its something thats been on my heart for a long time? Why? Because the word of God says that Pride is an ABOMINATION to God, and God ACTIVELY RESISTS the proud.

God Bless, metal.

The Bible is filled with verses about anger and about how angry words destroy. I know how much God hates an angry heart :(

I'm with kdet.....anger. Only I add to it the sin of pride. (I tend to always think my anger is justified, and therefore "righteous".) I pray hard about it, but I have to stay aware of it constantly. In my marriage, what has helped is that I take a 24 hour time period, if I am angry, before I talk to my husband about it. Usually after that, it either seems like a dumb thing to be mad about, or my prayers have given me enough wisdom to respond gently. I have lots of other sins, too, though, that I struggle with......they just take turns taking the front burner :(

I struggle with anger too at times. Self-pity and resentment too. I also have to pray alot over my mouth and ask God to help me think before i speak. :o

Perhaps everyone who posts in this thread can pray for a person who is struggling with the same sin. That way perhaps we can build each other up.

Unfortunately, I don't know if I can narrow it down to "just" one sin... until the past several months, I never thought that I had a problem with anger (at least not unrighteous anger)... but I do, and it has caused me to lose a long-term relationship with a wonderfully Godly woman. Please, please pray for God to help me with this sin. I also struggle with sexual lust and self-pity. Paul said that he was the chief of sinners... but I can't be far behind him. God help me!

Above all, I have problems with Pride. Even through many years of searching it out and fighting it, it still hides inside me and attacks. Everyone is equal in the kingdom, but it is so difficult for me to put that in perspective from my position. However, everyday I grow, and everyday, God helps me. I am slowly but surely overcoming!

Honestly, I think pride is the root of a lot of the sins we are ALL talking about and all struggle with. It is a precursor to most other sins, if you think about it. Maybe all of us in this thread can lift each other up to pray for victory over pride and all that it causes? I'm going to jot down all the user-names and commit to pray daily for us on this. Love, C
