it's terrible when ppl want to be the center of attention so much they will use hate and pretending to tell the truth in love just to be the center of attention. I don't see how you all can stand reading it. I would rather have positive attention than negative. It makes no sense to me why someone wants to be in this catagory.

Just wanted to say hello and um... God bless everyone...
and um...

Back on topic for a moment anyway... um

The best way to not be offended is to not take offense!

However some points in the post were correct that offense will come. If your a Christian and believe in the family, don't go vacation in Vermont, Maine and a few other places... from the news reports - the "alternative lifestyle choice" people will be offended at you for walking down the street holding hands with your spouse that is a different gender than you are. And for that matter will shout abuse at you and your family for offending them with your lifestyle choice. (Yet biblicaly where would the cause of the offense be?)

In parts of Canada, don't carry a Bible in plain sight as its an offense to the secular humanists of the areas - Yet we are given a mandate to preach the Gospel.

Don't wear a Christian T-Shirt to school because you will be suspended- that death metal shirt with the skull and blood and the satan symbol thats ok...

How many of you have gone shopping and seen a buddah statue in a decoration store and had to resist the urge to smash it on the ground in indignation? How about a store that was Christian owned and they had buddahs for sale as well - as decorations. Would you not be offended or at least see something wrong there?

The offense will come to you and me and each of us at some point.
There is such a thing as righteous indignation ( i class as offense ) Seeing how Jesus turned over the tables in the Temple and made a whip and beat the people away from making the Temple a place of goods.

Well I will quit there... I know most people skim over my posts anyway... Yet I try so hard not to offend anyone... I don't have anyone on Ignore... yet for my friendship with some in the forum... I may have offended some of you. For that I am truly able to say... get over the offense.

Offense will come... will you take it when it arrives?

You must have never heard Copeland call anyone "Ding Dong" or make fun of those who are experiencing emotional strife as buy two of many examples. You are not just wrong about WOF Teachers not using sarcasm but you ignorance of this fact makes me doublet you ever really listen to them at all.

I understand what you are saying and you are right to an extent. There has to be love in what we do. The difference here from I have seen of Rick's posts that are so contentious on this forum is that he was posting things which were absolute rubbish, off the wall, and anti scriptural. Therefore, he honestly has no right to post on a Word Of God believing forum where there are people coming in to be encouraged and find balance and truth. I don't want to get involved in the arguments surrounding this. I only know that if someone is posting "teachings" that go against any part of the word of God or seek to manipulate any part of it for ones own cause or gain, then they should be booted... and rightfully so. If someone is leading people astray on the pretense of being a man of God then they are literaly a sheep in wolves clothing by definition and need to be reproved and exposed openly so as to protect those who are less mature in the faith.

I hope you understand I am not attacking nor am I being malicious in any way. I am just stating a plain fact.

I do understand and that is an excellent post, not one that I even disagree with, the problem is the responses given and the mask of "love" given to cover a purely emotional reactionary attack response given, when it could have truly been handled with love and truth.

And frankly a missed opportunity.

Where was this response: We understand that's what you believe, but truthfully you are wrong. We WOFer's represent Christ and the Word and here is what the word says about "whatever topic".

Any violation of rules should be reported and the violater ignored or refuted with the word and without personal attack.

this is the reason I am against Ricky, I personally believe he is not born again by word of fatih or evangelical standards... and if he is not born again he should not be allowed to post teaching type posts here, he may ask questions but not discuss matters of doctrine...

Note 4 at Jn. 3:5: Being born of water is not speaking of water baptism as being essential for salvation. People were born again before they were baptized in water (Jn. 20:28 with Rom. 10:9). Cornelius and his household received the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:44-48) as evidenced by the gifts of the Holy Ghost, which Jesus said the world (lost) could not receive (Jn. 14:17) before they were baptized in water. When Peter defended his visit to Cornelius before the church in Jerusalem (Acts 11:1-18), he was trying to prove to the Jewish believers that God had granted salvation to the Gentiles also. If the early church had used water baptism to produce salvation, Peter certainly would have been questioned about this.

In 1 Corinthians 1:17, Paul said, "Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel." While in no way discrediting water baptism, Paul stated that it was not the gospel. Some groups today spend much more time preaching water baptism than they do proclaiming the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
Jesus, Himself, was baptized in water, but it certainly wasn't to produce forgiveness of sins (see note 4 at Mt. 3:11, p. 32; see note 9 at Mk. 16:16, p. 505).

This water could be speaking of the Word of God (Jn. 15:3; Eph. 5:26; Jas. 1:18; 1 Pet. 1:23) or the natural birth of a baby. Verse six might support the water as meaning the natural birth; however, either of these two interpretations are consistent with scripture and do not pose any inconsistencies as would water baptism.

Acts 2:38

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Note 2 at Acts 2:38: These Jews had been cut to the heart by the sermon that Peter preached (see ref. b at v. 37) and they called upon Peter and the other apostles to tell them what they had to do to get right with God. Peter then told them to repent and be baptized for the remission of sins. Many battles have been fought among Christians over this verse.

Repentance is not the main point of contention. Most will not deny that repentance is a part of receiving salvation (see note 1 at Mt. 3:2, p. 69; see note 3 at Lk. 15:18, p. 353). The real argument is over water baptism. Even more specifically the argument is: is water baptism a requirement for or an evidence of salvation?
Being baptized in water is a command of Jesus and should be obeyed as any other command He gave, but putting our faith in water baptism as a means of salvation is an offense to Christ and what He has done for us. It's saying that Jesus didn't pay it all; that there is also a price that we must pay in order to be saved.
Those who preach water baptism as necessary in order to obtain salvation, invariably also preach other actions of holiness that we must do to be saved because they have accepted the belief that faith in what Christ has done is not enough. They believe we must do certain things to be saved and they cite this verse and water baptism as an example. If a person believes that, the burden of salvation shifts from Jesus to us.

The answer to this problem is found in this verse in the little word "for." The Greek word that was translated "for" in this verse is "eis" and can mean "because of, as a result of, since" or it can also mean "so as to obtain."

As explained in note 9 at Mk. 16:16, p. 564, there are two examples of different groups of people being born again before they were baptized in water; therefore, water baptism cannot be a requirement in order to obtain salvation. It, therefore, must be an action that comes "because of, as a result of, or since" the remission of sins. It is an act of obedience which only a person who is already born again can perform (Acts 8:36-37).

Water baptism is an outward show of an inward change. It has great benefit as an action that resists the devil and a witness that identifies us as one with Christ, but it cannot save (see note 55 at Mt. 7:21, p. 139 and note 21 at Mt. 23:26, p. 450).

I like Rick Renner. He was one of the first I saw in person when I came into Word of Faith that did deep word studies. That could be who got me into it . I love word studies. About his quote here :

"If you discover that you have been a source of offense to someone else, take the mature path and go ask that person to forgive you. And don’t get defensive, for that will only make the problem worse. It may even lead to a deeper conflict, so just say you are sorry and move on!

Do everything you can to bury that offense and destroy what the devil is trying to do between you. Make it your personal aim to help that other person overcome what he thinks you did or said. Sometimes it is more important to help the other person attain a position of peace than it is to prove who is right or wrong!"

Not alot do this because they are too proud

John Bevere also teaches about offense alot. And one thing in particular is taking up the offence of others. We need to avoid doing that.
