CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Cool article. I believe people should listen to teens more often. I have yet to make a confession to a priest (I'm new), and I look forward to it. I need repentance, this is a sure thing. I have not been good and must ask for forgiveness.

You do not confess to the priest - you confess to Christ - at the Iconostasis or at the Analogion [ depends on your Church practice ]- and the priest is your witness.
[ this is both Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Practice BTW ]

I didn't say your priest is asleep.
Ours on the other hand is so overworked, he must see Confession as a break from the rush and grind of daily parish commitments.

Dear Father sorry but I spoke sharply to my dog this morning because I let him off the leash in the park and he got so focussed on something on the grass, where they had a hot dog stand the previous day, that he couldn't leave the spot for 15 minutes! Can you believe I had to wait 15 minutes for him to leave? Because if I go near him when he is eating something, he will growl protectively? What? You say that is a reflection in my poor training skills? But surely I have a right to be angry!
