• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Ok, so this might be a hard question. But I think that it might help us. Alot of us find it really hard to think positive and happy thoughts when we are feeling down. We then get tempted to do things that we shouldn't do. I thought that it might be a good idea to list down here something that makes us happy. Then maybe when we are down, we can pop in here, have a look at the list, and it might trigger the happy thoughts. I'll go first...

My wedding day

(I'm smiling already just thinking about that day!)

What makes me Happy?????
My family, my church family, playing volleyball and spending time with my grandkids.
Volleyball? I love playing volleyball. I haven't done it for years though, but I use to be on the ladies volleyball team, and we were 3rd in the division!

Something else that makes me happy...achieving something on my to-do list. (I like to see my list get smaller!)

i'll have to think about this one...just reading those posts, i've realised how out of touch i am with who i am and what i like....

I think church makes me happy....or hugs off my "mum"...yeah that's what makes me happy...childish, but oh well!

This is not childish...it gives you security, which is very important.

Hi, I'm new...

What makes me happy... well, when I remember to pray for those who hurt me to be blessed... and then how much real love I have found through Christ and his people, and I especially Praise God for my wonderful husband, too.

It can get better all... never let go!
Hello LightDancer. Welcome to the forum. That is probably the best happiness we can find...the love of Jesus Christ.

Hanging out with Jesus and listening to one of my favourite sermons (I have a few on tape).

Favourite music

Being able to really relax at the end of a long day, when I come home and someone else has cooked and I can put my feet up and watch my favourite show on TV.

Sitting at the beach drinking coffee and watching the water and or the sunset

Spending time with old friends

Making new friends

Knitting and gardening (my two new hobbies - I am loving having a hobby to just chill out with).

Getting a massage - I have a brilliant massage therapist.

Playing with my nieces and nephews and seeing them smile :)

I've done all of these this week.

Great thread.
