Muslims believe in the absolute unity of deity. Although some muslims have a strong tendency to prefer using the Arabic word "Allah" to evoke God, there is no reason why a muslim cannot evoke God simply in English as "God" or "The God" or "My God" or whatever. Though typically the Arabic word "Allah" evolves into a rather pointless semantical argument aimed at disassociating Islam from the other Abrahamic religions.

Well Hinduism is actually not as unified as one might believe at first. Some Hindus believe Vishnu is the supreme God (Krishna is an avatar of Vishnu). And some believe Shiva is supreme. And there are more variants as well. Just thought I'd point this out.

To answer your base question, what makes one deity more real than the other is the same thing that makes you and I more real than an imaginary friend. One group exists, the other doesn't. The problem here is of course demonstrating existence.

This problem causes some people to consider all deities akin to imaginary friends. Others will selectively do so. And yet others sit around twittering their thumbs not sure what to do. If God wants you or anyone else to believe, then believe you shall. If someone disbelieves that is the intended state. There is nothing anyone can do to convince a disbeliever otherwise.

Aside from Bruce Lee, every other person I mentioned were/are indeed religious.
Whatever, that argument failed miserably. If one only used that Google, he would have checked his argument before presenting it.
Hitler preached about God in his speeches.
And that means he is religious? Talk about shooting one's self in the foot. Just cited Bruce Lee quoting Gospel of Matthew, despite he was an atheist, then wants his audience to believe Hitler was religious. These are weak childish arguments. You are going to convince people religion is bad because of Hitler and Stalin?!?! Pathetic. Any religious person will turn back and shoot Mother Teresa back at you. We have been on this block for quite sometime now.

If I had to guess, I would say that it means to sacrifice your life to "god" out of love for him. In other words, selling your "soul" to "god".

If one would only guess to read beforehand, then it would be obvious that the question was about what makes Christian God different than other concepts of divine, not about selling one's "soul" to anything...

In Britain, saying "I don't understand" generally invites the other person to elaborate on what they just said. Must be a culture thing.

Yep, a people that created Monty Python ... "I don't understand" might also mean "I am trying to be sarcastic but can't hack it" Definitely a culture thing.

Anyway, what does "sacrifice through love" mean?
Let me help you do the work.

Wow. Are you always this vituperative?
So what vituperation is it being complained about here? The one that insulted my "culture thing"? So why complain if it was properly addressed? Let's not project this on me.
Yea, that really helped. Come back when you've calmed down and actually want to answer my question.
More arguments against the person instead of the content... I am now positive that it was just the "sarcasm" being emphasized with the initial question. If it takes too much time to go through a couple links which actually talk about the question at hand, then let's take a different approach. "Sacrifice" is one of the main elements in Christian understanding of God, with the Judaic God even requiring it. However it is simply pointless for me to explain the whole Christian theology behind sacrifice if it is basically unknown to a person. It appears that such person is incapable of understanding the theme of sacrifice through love in Christianity, which is essentially a theological stance, and such attitude shows no motive toward learning it by demonstrating a sarcastic outlook. Is that good enough now?

Hindus believe that there is one God as well. That one God reveals Himself in different forms. To use an analogy: take a prism and shine a beam of light through it. There is only one beam, but through the prism, you see that one beam of light in different colours. Or a brilliant sparkling diamond. That one diamond has many facets, but it is still one diamond. God is like that. While there is only one God, He appears in many different forms to people.

Most Hindus believe that Vishnu and Shiva are different forms of the same God. The Vishnu Purana states:

"Whoever is Lord Hari, He Himself is Lord Shiva indeed. Whoever is manifesting as Lord Shiva, He Himself is Lord Hari. Any human being who mistakes both the Lords to be different, he/she surely goes to Naraka (the Hindu equivalent of hell, which is not eternal)." (Vishnu Purana 5.33.46)

The Gaudiya Vaishnava sect (to which ISKCON/"Hare Krishnas" subscribe) says that Krishna alone is the Supreme Lord and that all the other Gods are His servants. This view has been criticized by Hindus of other sects, especially Saivites (those who believe that Lord Shiva is the Supreme) as the Gaudiyas say that Shiva himself worships Vishnu as Lord Rama (and is not the Supreme God). This is possibly where iAtheist got his information.
