What is your treasure?
StLuke 12:15-21&34
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisted not in the abundance of the things which he possessed.
And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
This man had an abundance of goods. His storehouses were overflowing. He had more than he needed for a lifetime. He decided to tear down his old storehouses and build bigger ones that he may store all that he had unto himself. Then he could be merry and rich the rest of his life. God said unto him, Thou fool, I will take your life this night. Then what shall become of all that thou hast horded unto thyself. For it shall be wasted. For you had not a heart toward God. For a man with a Godly heart would have given, to those in need, that which was overflowing from his storehouses. And this man would have a treasure waiting in heaven.
Turn your hearts toward the things of God and not to the things of this world! For God is watching and measuring the treasures of our heart.
What is your treasure?
Be blessed!
