What is your Track or Album of the week?

Mine this week is Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys.

This is a perfect album.

It's one of the few albums Paul McCartney was dumb struck by.

It holds up really well after a long time.A sign of a real classic album.

And yes Brian Wilson is the Genius who wrote and produced it all,I think he did nearly all if not all of the instruments....

This album cannot be enjoyed too much.

I am listening to it on both the original mono,and Stereo mix.

Album of the Week: Feeler by Pete Murray.

Echoing artists such as Jack Johnson, this Australian guitarist and his backing band have made a huge noise all over Australia and the UK with his debut release. The album is characterised by a mainly acoustic sound, and tracks such as "Feeler" and "Bail Me Out" demonstrate an excellent mix of instrumentation and the soothing baritone vocals of Murray. Although exposure to the US mainstream market has not occurred, it is certain that with the right mix of marketing and performances, "Feeler" will be a hit for US music lovers.

I think that within the next 2 or 3 days I'm going to develop a full-blown obsession with this new show I got, by a guy named Dr. Didg. He plays the Didgeridoo. Its an Australian instrument. Realllly cool, low, earthy sound. The guy sits on stage and blows it, also mixes in other effects and is backed up by a guitar, bass and drums. He also has a PhD in physics!! and he spent time living with the Australian Aborigines thats where he learned how to play the didgeridoo. Its a totally new sort of sound to me, really cool.

This week I can't seem to get enough of The Cure's "Pictures of You". I don't usually go for the sappy sentimental songs, but there's something about this one that makes me a little nostalgic over something that I can't place my finger on. I kinda like that feeling.

I have two this week. Eastmountainsouth, by Eastmountainsouth. I'm not sure what genre to put this duo in, but it's kind of folk, kind of 'singer-songwriter' with maybe a tad bit of eclectic alt-country thrown in. The songs are beautifully melodic. Check out "You Dance" and "Rain Come Down"

My other album of the week is Turin Brakes' Ether Song. Seemingly innocent songs that pack a wallop of emotion lyrically.

I've gotta say that I really like that sound. You really hadn't heard it until recently? You've been deprived!

I've got Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet in my car right now, I've been listening to a lot of Bon Jovi and David Lee Roth(with and without Van Halen) lately.

I guess since it's Saturday and I've yet to make a choice I'll just go with what I've listened to the most this week. I'm going with Saves The Days album Through Being Cool. I think the reason I love this band so much is due to the fact that they are the same age as I am and have grown with each album lyricaly the same way I have. I first heard their 2nd album, Through Being Cool, at the begining of my senior year in high school. From the moment I heard the opening track I was hooked on the album, it seemed to scream everything that a 17 year old male was thinking at the moment. To this day it continues to remind me of that last year of high school and the fun I had.
