i listen to everything. well not everything. i'm an emo lover... yes, i proudly admit it.... but i also love alt country (ryan adams, wilco), old school punk, new pop punk, a little bit of metal, 80s music, indie. as my mother puts it 'any musical composition of the rock persuasion...' shes not as weird as she sounds....

As a full fledged Christian, i listen to hip-hop all the time. However, it has to be cuss free and have a positive message. Otherwise, if it's the typical violence or sex scene then I won't listen to it because it's an abomination to God.

Just like anything else and all other types of music, there is good hip-hop and bad hip-hop.

i think its hard to like hip hop, as a human being, not as a christian. it takes no talent to produce, i dont even consider it music. however, the "whole scene" of violence and sex is definately a good thing.

old school punk/'new wave'
post-punk
indie rock & lo-fi
Brit rock (Coldplay, Radiohead, The Verve, etc)
alt-country

Pop for me. I like just about any kind of music though. I really don't like most Christian music though except for praise and worship and some hymns. Most Christian music is just too boring for me. I'm surprised you didn't include Christian music in your poll.

Alt-country would include bands like Wilco, Old 97s, My Morning Jacket, Jayhawks, Whiskeytown. Alt-country artists include Lucinda Williams, Ryan Adams, Jay Farrar, Rhett Miller. I guess it's not really country, it's rock with a bit of a gi-tar twang.
