What is wrong with people?

In browsing the net just now I came across a news item to do with a shooting at a Baptist church in the States. It seems a guy walks up the aisle and shoots the Pastor a man called Fred Winters in the chest then when the gun jammed produces a knife, stabs himself and two church members who were trying to subdue him. It boggles themind sometimes with what happens almost on a daily basis somewhere in the world.

The shock to everyone in this Church will be deepseated. It is a sad fact that no matter what our religious persuaision is this event is a tragedy for all. In time, maybe, the truth will come out. But today's events will stay with the people who saw it for a very long time. There will be a lot of prayer needed over the next few months I'm sure.

So one line of inquiry is that Pastor Winters killer had Lyme's disease which is as a result of a tick bite. As far as I can remember it really is a nasty illness to contract because of the varying symptoms and their effect. However, this alone may not be the only reason. If anyone from the Maryville church reads this could they pass on my sincerest condolences to the family over their loss and may God grant them peace and privacy over the next few weeks.

I too read about this story. It really saddened my heart. It is no surprise that these things will happen in the times we are in. However it is no less shocking when they actually do. There are many here in Australia praying for those who have had this loss in Maryville, we pray that God's peace and comfort will be with you all.
