I thought it would be nice to have a discussion thread around what Baptists/Anabaptist think worship is and how you worship in private and also corporately in your church.
I do not know how the anabaptists and baptists historically defined worship but I think these verses sum up what worship is.
Matt 22:35-38
35 One of them, a lawyer, asked Him {a question} testing Him,
36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?"
37 And He said to him, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'
38 "This is the great and foremost commandment.

John 14:15
15 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
(NAU)
Col 3:17
17 Whatever you do in word or deed, {do} all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
(NAU)
John 4:19-24
19 The woman said to Him, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.
20 "Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you {people} say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship."
21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
22 "You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.
23 "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
24 "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
(NAU)
And as to how I like to worship in private. I like to go on walks and pray to God. Also I like music and sing them or meditate (not the weird eastern kind) while listening to them.
