The video actually was the promo, in a sense. The album it's on was released several months prior to the video premiere (and the song was/is played often on Dr. Demento).

Even stranger than the original song IMO, is that Duran Duran covered it on tour.


As I don't really think this is going so much on 'weird' as in patently bizarre as it is 'weird' as in quirky comedy, I'll go with "The March of the Sinister Ducks". Can't necessarily say it's the most out there thing I've heard - "Pac Man Fever" is more left field at the very least - but it is certainly amusing. Doubly so since two of the band members were Alan Moore (yes, that Alan Moore) and David J. (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets, etc.).

Probably best to grab the MP3 from Neil Gaiman's blog. A basic Google search will bring it up.
