Hi, Chris Complex
God bless you

Yes, Jesus says He is
"the truth" in John 14:6. Also, by the way, our Apostle John, in his first letter says,
"the Spirit is truth", in 1 John 5:6. I would say this means how Jesus and the Holy Spirit are, within Themselves, all there is of the true reality of God who is love (1 John 4:8&16).
So, what this means for us personally, is that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are Persons of God Himself. They are not second-best beings inferior to God. And God is now sharing these Beings with us so we can share with Him in His own love > so we are pleasing to God the way Jesus is pleasing to our Father, more and more as we grow in Jesus in us as our new inner Person > Galatians 4:19 > and while God's own Holy Spirit in us is sharing with us His very own love > Romans 5:5.
And this is real love > true love > which makes us more and more immune to fear > 1 John 4:18. And in God's own love we can share as family with God and one another. And plenty of the New Testament is about how we become and relate in this love. The Bible describes and prescribes how to become and live in God's own love. And this is the truth in us . . . the meaning of God's words.
So, part of what Jesus means by saying He is the truth, is that God has given us His very own truth, by giving us His own Son; and therefore God is not conceited and distant, but He is sharing with us His very own best of everything, by giving us Jesus and His Holy Spirit.
