God is truth , His WORD is truth.
if you want to see truth. Go read HIS sayings.
Pilate once asked JESUS that very thing.
When JESUS said he brought truth.
What is truth
I can only point you to the truth. His sayings.
Only God can give the increase. But i promise HE is truth. His sayings are truth.
But ye must be born of the spirit.
the Spirit is truth, and will guide you into all truth.
Just seek Him. So go read his sayings.
Truth is absolute. I know , many say i know truth etc.
No man can know the truth, lest the Father draw Him to the SON.
also, all those who have learned of the Father comes to Him.
my advice, since you seem to what to know what TRUTH IS
SEEK HIM. just read the bible and pray. You will find TRUTH ,
when you seek Him, with all your heart.

Oh, Ooooh, so your truth is just Jesus and him. Then there is no actual meaning within this, just him.

I started a thread with exactly the same title about a month ago in Ethics and Morality. And that's the truth!
Well, the poster below you said something much different about the truth and it's meaning.

Interesting.

Truth is like "falling in love".
When it's real, your heart feels it
And you can't describe it
It's like something testifies to your soul
And makes your soul feel complete
Maybe you didn't even know something was missing
Or maybe you've been searching
But when it finds truth, you feel complete
You feel you have found your purpose
And no matter what happens, you have peace about all things
The biggest battles are between our hearts & mind
But HE made these 2 friends, not enemies

Happy trails Complex Chris

Or do you say Jesus himself is the truth.
Hi, Chris Complex God bless you I am Bill

Yes, Jesus says He is "the truth" in John 14:6. Also, by the way, our Apostle John, in his first letter says, "the Spirit is truth", in 1 John 5:6. I would say this means how Jesus and the Holy Spirit are, within Themselves, all there is of the true reality of God who is love (1 John 4:8&16).

So, what this means for us personally, is that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are Persons of God Himself. They are not second-best beings inferior to God. And God is now sharing these Beings with us so we can share with Him in His own love > so we are pleasing to God the way Jesus is pleasing to our Father, more and more as we grow in Jesus in us as our new inner Person > Galatians 4:19 > and while God's own Holy Spirit in us is sharing with us His very own love > Romans 5:5.

And this is real love > true love > which makes us more and more immune to fear > 1 John 4:18. And in God's own love we can share as family with God and one another. And plenty of the New Testament is about how we become and relate in this love. The Bible describes and prescribes how to become and live in God's own love. And this is the truth in us . . . the meaning of God's words.

So, part of what Jesus means by saying He is the truth, is that God has given us His very own truth, by giving us His own Son; and therefore God is not conceited and distant, but He is sharing with us His very own best of everything, by giving us Jesus and His Holy Spirit.

I remember believing that Jesus was the truth, but it didn't come with a understanding of what the truth actually was. My thoughts were that if Jesus was the truth it would be demonstrable by it's very nature. But I found that every group that called itself Christian said "Jesus is the truth" or "God is the truth" But nothing further from this would be substantiated.

Jesus is the truth, but then what is that?

HIS Sayings are truth. start reading them .
i cannot put truth in anyone nor give , for its freely given in Christ.
i can only share truth.
Well many sayings can be true by the nature that it quantifies something, but statements of truth are not restricted to the bible.

The truth has to have some grand meaning, right. I'ts meaning must be the reason why truth is the truth. Or do you say Jesus himself is the truth.

But what is that?
And what does that mean?

The truth is I hate spiders. Is this truth full of "grand meaning"? No. Not at all, really. But it is true. Not all truth, then, must have some transcendent and incredible import.

I say that God is the Ground of All Reality and as such is The Truth. Without God there is merely illusion of meaning, subjective preference, and the pointless accident of one's existence.

Truth is that which corresponds to reality as it exists. When Jesus said "I am truth", I believe He was indicating that He was that which corresponded to ultimate reality... God. What this would mean, then, is what other New Testament writers have said, that Jesus is the exact image of the invisible God. Jesus Himself said "If you have seen me you have seen the Father".

Hope this helps;
Mike

The way Jesus lived as a servant, willing to inconvenience himself for the sake of others, even to death and even asking God to forgive those who were in the processing of killing him, is indeed the true way to live in this age. Living this way brings an abundance of goodness now and even more so in the coming everlasting age when death is finally stopped.

You can't think of a greater good/truth than to stop death all together and that's what Jesus' followers are working toward by His Spirit.

Jesus rose, "a life-giving spirit" > in 1 Corinthians 15:45. So, in Jesus we grow in being life-giving, which I think means how we can minister God's own grace to effect others with His love in our character. Then we discover how Jesus is, by becoming loving like He is.

"As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." (1 Peter 4:10)

So, the truth includes how we become like Jesus and can spread the effect of His own love . . . like how salt spreads its saltiness all around it.

There is some good counsel given here to the challenges. Some souls are hanged up on words and miss the meanings. When God and the Lord Jesus speaks of being truth, they are speaking of spiritual and eternal issues, as the whole Bible shows. Man is made as eternal beings (even science says: "no energy is ever lost ---it just moves on"). Man is a spirit and soul in a physical body, and when the body dies the soul moves on to face its maker ---the Creator-God. If one seeks to demean God by challenging what He has said, then they are on shaky ground and need to watch their mouth and heart. God says: "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hand of the eternal God".
