That's not really an answer to my questions. There is nothing wrong with variety in Creation. You want variety in your food right?
Of course! Every animal, every person for that matter has a special purpose for their life. That's not really an answer to my questions.
So to get variety in Creation, God purposely made some animals with body plans that would make life more difficult than it is for other animal in the same environment. So much for "very good".
Of course! Every animal, every person for that matter has a special purpose for their life.
We are specifically discussing the way that the variety of life was created on Earth, not whether a God performed that function or not.The Creation itself has a HUGE amount of evidence pointing to an intelligent organized Creator. "The Heavens declare the Glory of God". DNA structure in itself is it's own language. A painting is all the evidence you need for a painter.
Don't you like to play with the dolphins? What about Jonah and the whale? I seriously doubt he would have survived for three days in a shark.
1. The Bible says it was a fish.Don't you like to play with the dolphins? What about Jonah and the whale? I seriously doubt he would have survived for three days in a shark.
Where did you show us evidence that any creature was created by a deity?
Do food recipes fall into a nested hierarchy?
1. The Bible says it was a fish.
2. Why would a human have a better chance in a whale?
3. You have a penchant for limiting what your God can do. Could God not protect him in a shark?
2. Why would a human have a better chance in a whale?
That is not relevant to the discussion at hand. I assume your speculation was not meant to add to the scriptures. That would be problematic within your belief system. It's important to note that the Lord prepared a fish. It was most likely one of a kind.

I would have to agree that the story does indicate that. It is strange to me why mickiio thinks God couldn't have used a shark. Apparently her God is limited more than yours. It's relevant in that God was controlling the situation, including the 'fish'.

True or it could have been a whale. It's important to note that the Lord prepared a fish. It was most likely one of a kind.
The Hebrew, as throughout scripture, refers to no species in particular, simply saying "great fish" or "big fish" (whales are today classified as mammals and not fish, but no such distinction was made in antiquity).1. The Bible says it was a fish.
Because it is a mammal and breathes instead of gills that force water through them to breath. In a whale there could have been air in there, where Jonah would have more then likely drowned in a fish.2. Why would a human have a better chance in a whale?
No I'm not. It could have been a shark, sure. Or maybe some other wild creature we don't know about. I am just favoring the logical choice.3. You have a penchant for limiting what your God can do. Could God not protect him in a shark?
Way to miss the point.God used what God wanted to use. It is what it is.
True or it could have been a whale.

So much for inspiration.True or it could have been a whale.

I think a God that can keep 3 guys from burning while in a furnace could keep Jonah from drowning. Gotta keep the story consistent.Because it is a mammal and breathes instead of gills that force water through them to breath. In a whale there could have been air in there, where Jonah would have more then likely drowned in a fish.
When has "the logical choice" ever been applicable to the God of the Bible? No I'm not. It could have been a shark, sure. Or maybe some other wild creature we don't know about. I am just favoring the logical choice.
