Some nonesense where people think gold dust and fluttering feelings indicated God's presence.

God's true presence and glory is a changed life.

Yep, and a life that is evidenced by its fruit, not by its gifts (real or imagined).

If God made you rich, would he gain a fortune or lose a man.

The Glory Zone is the atmosphere where His presence is so strong His spirit fills the room and more of Him seems to fill the room. It gets to the point that everyone wil end up on their knees or on the floor in worship because of the weight of His presence. Everyone comes away changed, and they become ruined of everything they knew and get a taste of God manifest on earth. However he blesses people, that is up to Him. Instant weightloss isn't in the bible yet people in china and africa are being blessed by these miracles literally having to Hold their pants up. When you "take the limits off" or have a "no limits" mentality...then you realize God really REALLY can do all things. The glory zone is a place where His spirit falls. Look at the creation acount His spirit hovered over the darkness,...then God spoke and it was,...so when in God's presence let His spirit guide your words and His will, will be done and literally instantaneously. you let the creator create of Himself where there was seemingly nothing (eg.heb 11:3)

Naw, not as bad as it sounds. And trust me I was really REALLY a skeptic for a long time. I was all like "Those ppl falling down are faking it" and "Those people rolling on the floor are just worked into a psychosis", but when I praised God from the privacy of my own Home I never expected Him to hit me with the very things I doubted,...needless to say it changed my perspective. After I was through laughing my butt off I would get revelation, I'd laugh some more and get more revelation, was seriously like being drunk for real. Now I never fell backwards or forwards in the Spirit as far as slain in the Spirit, I have felt the "weight" of His presence that the jews call kabod I found out later. I fell to my knees in worship because literally I couldn't stand anymore and not because I was tired. It's just something you gotta experience yourself to know. Everyone will doubt, some will go without, Some will believe, and all can recieve. *Shrugs* I hope you guys can experience His presence as I have and better!

And you support that how scripturally?

Sounds like an aspect/emphasis of Kabbalah. I would stay away from it.

I have a friend from law school who is a messianic Jew (who now attends a baptist church--go figure.) At any rate, she--being a member of the the tribe of Levi and a descendant of Aaron--explained to me that what Madonna and others refer to as "Kabbalah" is--to paraphrase her--a perversion of what the true doctrine is about. In fact, she said that Kabbalah is supposed to be secret--so secret that members of the group are not supposed to talk to anyone about it or to give any details about it. Then she glossed over some things which, frankly, I don't remember enough to explain further.

HOWEVER, after we got finished with our conversation, I went to my apartment (leaving the shuttle bus where we talked) and immediately fell on my face in worship---for no apparent reason.

a couple of points of fact.

#1 - the "select few" you reference here are mainstream Christianity. The groups which you refer to as "the rest of us" are a sub group even within the charismatic Church, which itself is a sub group of the larger Christian Church.

#2 - they aren't the ones claiming to have special revelation from God which revealed to them the truth. Rather it is the groups you are identifying with who depend solely on special personal revelation to justify their views. The "select few" you refer to are simply holding these experiences and teachings up to the scrutiny of the bible, and asking why a lot of it doesn't appear to match.

Almost always in discussions on these topics the "skeptic" group is saying "show that to me in the bible" and the "pro" group is saying "God told me and if you don't believe its your problem"... so which group is the select few claiming that God has shown them the truth and the rest of us are just deceived??
