  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You dun show God that you belive in him and love him through rayers...it should be through you heart!!! You dun pray for him to hear too...he must have heard it thousands of time already!!!

We pray because God commanded us to pray. We don't pray to inform Him of our needs. As you said, He knows them, and He knows them better than we do. We don't pray because God is powerless unless we ask. On the contrary, God's will is done regardless of our prayer. We pray because we recognize, or should recognize, that we are dependent upon God for all things. It is one way of showing our faith that He is the author of all good and wonderful gifts, even those we may not think are so wonderful from time to time.

God bless

We pray to establish and demonstrate our desire for a relationship with Him. We pray to show that we want Him to rule our lives. We pray out of gratitude for Him saving us by the sacrifice of His son, our Lord Jesus Christ, for our sins. We pray our praise and worship of and to Him!

can u honestly belive that statement.... do u believe that we shouldn't lay hands on the sick and pray for them... do u beleive that we shouldn't pray for our families .... do u belive that we shouldn't our freinds to be saved....do u honestly believe that God will act in a situation with out our prayer.... God wants us to declair things over our lives in prayer... ..

you say God's will be done....

if ur friend is sitting there dying of cancer... would you honestly say to him.. "God's will be done" ... God wants us to be healthy...he wants us to prosper... her wants us to live like to the max... if we sit back and just declare his will be done... you will next find the power of god... and the full extent that our God goes to for us....

laters ....

Because God is sovereign and a sovereign God isn't dependent upon anything. How can you believe differently? Do you believe God's ability to bring His plan to fruition is regulated by whether or not you pray?

do u believe that we shouldn't lay hands on the sick and pray for them

Of course we should. I believe I said that we should pray. I just think it's inherently self serving as well as biblically inaccurate to believe that our prayer, or lack of it, dictates what the Almighty is, or is not, able to do.

do u beleive that we shouldn't pray for our families

Of course we should pray for our families. I've never said otherwise.

do u belive that we shouldn't our freinds to be saved

Do you mean "Do you believe that we shouldn't pray for our friends to be saved? If so, again, of course we should petition God for such things. And again, it is anthropocentric to assume that because we pray for someone to be saved then they will or that if we don't pray for someone they won't be saved. We are saved according to the purpose of God, not according to whether we pray.

do u honestly believe that God will act in a situation with out our prayer

Not only do I believe God will act in a situation without our prayer, I know He does. Every second of your life is sustained by the power of the Almighty. Do you pray every second of your life? Of course you don't. Do you honestly believe that God is limited by whether or not you pray in any given situation?

God wants us to declair things over our lives in prayer

Again, I've never said otherwise.

you say God's will be done....

As does the Bible.

if ur friend is sitting there dying of cancer... would you honestly say to him.. "God's will be done"

Of course. What would you say? Let me guess, "Oh, I'm going to pray for you so everything will be alright?" Sounds to me like you've been spending a bit too much time watching the teachings of Benny Hinn and Ken Copeland.

God wants us to be healthy...he wants us to prosper... her wants us to live like to the max... if we sit back and just declare his will be done... you will next find the power of god... and the full extent that our God goes to for us....

Definitely too much time spent under the "name it and claim" it preaching. The thing that you are confused on, in my opinion, is what it means to be "healthy" and to "prosper" and to "live life to the max." God's desires aren't as trivial as to whether you've got a big house and a nice car. It's about your spiritual health and well being. Look at the Apostle Paul. Was he healthy? Was he rich? Was he well received? Was he lavished with gifts? Did he die? Everything that Paul, and everyone else, experiences, to include death, are all part of God's divine plan. To believe otherwise is to profess that something comes to pass that the Creator is unable to stop from happening. Nothing thwarts the will of God. If He wants someone to live through a sickness, they do. If He doesn't desire that then no amount of praying is going to change that.

As I said, we pray to show our faith and subservience to the Lord.

Tell me something, Big Jase, if someone gets sick and dies, even if you pray for them, do you think that happened apart from the divine providence of God? Do you think it's because you didn't pray hard enough or because you lacked faith? Or maybe, just maybe, they still died because God's will was that they die and what you should have learned from that was that you should never assume that your prayer of your hearts desire will overrule God's plan. You may ask for all righteous things to be added unto you. However, it may not be God's plan that someone live just because you pray for them. Have faith in the one you pray to rather than your prayer.

God bless
