One of the best descriptions of love is what Jesus did for us on the cross and that had nothing to do with sex at all what-so-ever.

Debi1967 is the love of my life!!!!
Life for me is great. For many years I felt so alone, but not anymore. The Lord brought a beautiful woman into my life and she has taught me all about love and life. Many times in my life I thought I was in love, but now I see they were only infatuations. Love is not something that just happens without knowing a person and it is something that grows continually. I love my wife more today than I did when we first met. And tomorrow I will love her more than today.
When you have someone in your life that you love, life"s meaning becomes very clear. Because there is nothing you wouldn't do for that person. To be a part of someone's life in such an intitmate way broadens your view and causes you take your focus off yourself. So often when we are alone all we can think about is ourselves and that is not what we are here on this earth to learn. I believe there is a much deeper lesson to life. A lesson of love.
Jesus said, "Love one another even as I have loved you." Having someone in your life that loves you unconditionally as a spouse should teaches us this Godly love. It teaches us to overlook the little things in our lives that need changing and cause us to look at the heart of the person. And if you can do it with one, you can do it with all mankind. And that my friends is what life and love is all about.
I am not saying you have to have someone in your life to understand love but it does help. Love is about loving others unconditionally, without judging or ridiculing, and it is all a matter of looking at the heart of a person.

In the Greek, there are four different words associated with love...
Eros - romantic love, desire
Philia - love between family, friends (Philidelphia - "City of Brotherly Love")
Storge - "affection" probably the "shallowest" of the terms for love.
Agape - self-sacrificing, giving love. The love God has for us and we are commanded to have for others.
Interestingly enough, the Bible says that men are to "agapeo" their wives but wives are only required to "phileo" their husbands. But this is not as significant as one might think. The two terms seem to have considerable overlap and the line is not as clear cut as one would imagine.
The reason love is often associated with sex is because our culture associates love most often with eros. It is fed to us in advertising, on TV, and in movies on a 24 hour basis. What has been lost in today's society is this:
It is possible to love someone and not have sex with them.
This is why you have gay marriages and pedophilia. They both stem from an inappropiate expression of love. There are male (and female) friends that I have that I both love and admire. I do not have sex with them though. It does not make my love for them any less deep than the fact that the love that I have for my mother is not diminished by a lack of sexual relations with her as well. Eros is reserved and has it's proper place in marriage.
Show me a person who reads of the close relationship between David and Jonathan and says, "Oh, they must have been gay..." and I'll show you a person who has never had a healthy relationship with a close friend.

The result is not love anymore just something carrying the same name.

Satan is a liar. It says so in the bible. But even if it didnt id know that he is. He will do anything to make sure a person that believes in God goes astray.
And like you said - he will also corrupt what is good and beautiful.

Love is honour, respect, trust, and committment.
Lets look at what Jesus said about love. John ch14:If ye love me, keep my commandments. Now mans love is emotions, kissing huging etc.
There is no suching thing as in love.
Jesus put division between us, just in case we get to emotional or in love,so they
say.
Lets look at matthew ch13::26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
It Just mean, put the lord first.

Funny how it says the word "hate". That had better be a mistranslation. 
Also, if it says "disciple", then surely it must be referring to literal disciples and not the universal followers of God we are.
