No. You've made yourself clear. For you, love is not 100% based on emotion.

So effectively, if you are doing any or all of the things mentioned in 1 Corinthians 13 about biblical love, you, specifically, are NOT doing them out of an emotion of caring. You just love out of obedience. You don't feel pain or pleasure when you love. You feel no emotion at all whan you biblically love.

Biblical love is NOT based on the emotion of caring, it's based on obedience.

Is that a fair summary about Biblical love in your view?

as I said, Biblical Love is emotion, action, attitude and more. It consumes the entire man. Sometimes the emotion is pleasure, sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes down right difficult, sometimes there isn't any emotion to it at all it is just the attitude by which I try to live my life. As I have said many times over in this thread, Biblical Love does NOT rely on emotion to exist.

You left out tons of things I told you. For example, I did say that sometimes the emotion is there, sometimes it is not. Love is obedience but more because it has become an attitude by which I live. IOW's it transcends emotions alone and goes beyond emotion and obedience as well. If it were only one or the other it would not be Love. That is the point you seem to keep missing. Worldly love is emotion and without that pleasant emotion it is not love...by contrast Biblical Love is so much more than just an emotion. It is an emotion, an action, an attitude...it is a way of life...it is obedience and willingness and knowledge and understanding and grace and mercy and compassion and so much more. It is a changed heart, new desires, supernatural lived out when the world cannot understand. AND SO MUCH MORE...

I thank you for your point of view. Whether you're right about everything you wrote...I don't know.

The search continues....

In my experience any time we truly want to know something the best way to go about it is study the source. In the case of Biblical Love the source is God through scripture...otherwise you are just asking man for their opinion and not really looking for the answers you claim to want.

Matthew 22:36-40King James Version (KJV)

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Thou shalt love the Lord Christ with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love the Son of God as thyself.

Romans 12:5King James Version (KJV)

5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

"LOVE" in the Bible: What is it?

Real love seeks to serve others, rather than to be served by others.

True Love unconditionally gives and commits self without any expectation of return.
