(There's that smoke, again. I wonder if he's using a machine. Maybe I can find the power cord....)
Yes, I am still watching this threadI am unsure of what you wish for me to say, as I have already explained love.

Couldn't have done it better myself xD
Y'know what? I'm feeling...I'm feeling...I'm feeling some John M. Perkin's Blues! Yeah! Check this out, Gos!
we all have emotions but we don't all act out of emotion. This is something you have yet to grasp. In each and every situation we have a choice to either act on our emotions or act toward the situation. I have taught my children and try to practice it myself that we act do not react to every situation out of emotion but rather out of Love. In fact, the believer is called to act in self control. Self control is a fruit of the Spirit and should be in every single believer. If we are acting in self control we are not acting out of emotion but rather out of obedience. See, what you are preaching is emotionalism what scripture teaches, what Love teaches is obedience. but you are missing the point. Our obedience should flow out of Love for God amen but it does not mean that everything I do is spurred by "love" but rather is spurred by what scripture calls "fear of the Lord". We could argue that fear is an emotion and to a point one would be right but the fear talked about here is whatever it takes to obey not fear in and of itself. Psalms 34 (I believe I got the right Psalms) teaches us how to fear the Lord and it has nothing at all to do with emotions but obedience.
The child that wants to run out in the street to chase the puppy down will be in huge trouble if he runs in front of a car because he didn't "feel" like looking for cars. In fact, when he decides he should look for cars he doesn't do so because he loves the parents who taught him to look out for cars but rather because he was taught to look for cars no matter what his emotions tell him to do. Likewise, our obedience to God though rooted in Love is not an emotional reaction but rather one that is taught and equipped by the HS within.
Really? You seriously want me to believe that every time you cross the road you look both ways because of fear? wow...I couldn't live that way, sorry...I don't get into the modern idea that we always have to be angry or afraid of something...just isn't how life works."Mommy....I feared getting hit by a car. So I obeyed your teaching."

Just for the record, I personally think life is way way too short to waste of fickle emotions that are often times deceptive to say the least.
Okay, got another question for you...if Biblical Love is about emotions, I could see that with Loving someone you like and Loving your enemy but what about Loving those people you are completely indifferent to? What emotion does that fall under in your opinion?Ok. Thanks for replying.
what does that have to do with emotions that ebb and flow and deceive? Even our salvation isn't reliant on our emotions look at Thomas who doubted...Well, I've been taught life is eternal. Something about a gift from Christ when he's accepted as Savior.
But.....okay.
I appears that you are too worldly minded to discuss Biblical Love. I asked you for a three word or less definition for God...you gave this. I challenged that by telling you it isn't a definition nor is it anywhere near complete. There are at least 13 different ways God shows His Love for us.The same way the Scriptures do:
1. Judge
2. Creator
3. Father
Now this is what I call, "Trans-realming!!!" YEAH!
Thanks for that.

Now, I ask you this...if God Himself needs at least 13 different ways to express Love and a whole chapter to list the characteristics of Love and 66 books to explain what it is and how we are to live it out as well as recognize it, what makes you think it can be defined in 3 words or less much less reduced to an emotion and nothing more? Don't you think that if Biblical Love could be encapsulated in 3 words or less or for that matter in emotions God Himself could have used much less than He did to tell us about it? I mean this is the God who created everything including lang.

1. Judge
2. Creator
3. Father
4. Brother
5. Savior
6. Bridegroom
7. King
8. Friend
9. Servant
10. Shephard
11. Master Craftsman
12. Comforter
13. God
And this is just how He expresses His Love for us there are many more aspects to God than just His Love. Not to mention that just listing expressions of Love are 13 words at least and that is just if we accept that "God is Love". So tell me again how you are going to define God in three words or less. Keep in mind you need to define Him not list names He is called.
