@AstridIn Christianity, it means anyone who is a real believer in the Gopsel (good news) message of or about Jesus Christ.
It's basic message entails Jesus being born of a virgin, and dying so you could be forgiven of your sins, and that he came in the flesh, and that he was resurrected from the dead sometime after his death or dying so that you could be forgiven of your sins.
There are probably just a few more things you need to believe in beyond that, etc, but that's the basic message of Christianity that in Christianity distinguishes a true believer, from a non-true believer, etc.
It all centers around the message of or about Jesus, etc, or as Paul said "Jesus Christ and him crucified", etc. That's how you can tell a true believer, from a non-true believer, etc. Well, in Christianity anyway, etc.
Take Care.
I would say it is used to distinguish between people who we'd call "nominal Christians", (Christians in name only) and people who really believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that He died to save them from sin death and hell.I hear this term- what does it mean?
A true believer is one who has received His Holy Spirit. Be blessed.I hear this term- what does it mean?
What does the “ true” part mean?A true believer is one who has received His Holy Spirit. Be blessed.
I think Neogaia777 explained it well. What does the “ true” part mean?
The question is what do you think "true" means? If you judge by actions then you are wrong because all humans operate on their selfish desires. It's basic message entails Jesus being born of a virgin, and dying so you could be forgiven of your sins, and that he came in the flesh, and that he was resurrected from the dead sometime after his death or dying so that you could be forgiven of your sins.

I’m not sure id start with the self identifiedFor me there's a far more important question... how am I to recognize this 'true' Christian?
They don't willingly follow the will of man and this world we have made in our own image. For me there's a far more important question... how am I to recognize this 'true' Christian?
Is everything esteemed by people bad in Gods eyes? They don't willingly follow the will of man and this world we have made in our own image.
Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
The scriptures say what they say. What it boils down to is that the will of man is built upon self - pure selfishness, self interest, self discernment, etc.. God's will is not. He tells us to not seek personal gain at another's expense but to care for all as we would wish they cared for us. This is where discernment comes in.Is everything esteemed by people bad in Gods eyes?

Agreed especially when people take what is meant to be simple enough for a child to understand, (ie. the golden rule which comes from Jesus' second commandment of love all as self) and complicate it and turn it into a religion for the sake of creating authourity, power and governments. Jesus simply started a movement that got turned back towards the world of man. Some is no different from our traditional beliefs, some
seems quite strange.
It’s a means to measure up others and ascertain how they should be regarded or treated. See also: The Sneeches (if it hasn’t been banned in your zip code yet).I hear this term- what does it mean?
