I am not a Christian, I am a Buddhist. Your Forum Rules expressly prohibit me from trying to convert or advertize for my religion (pointless since Buddhist's don't proselytize to other religious people). However, this forum is in the "all members" area, and was set up for "discussion and debate." Within this framework, is it acceptable for me to discuss, debate, prove or argue my religion, or will that result in erasure of the psots and my ejection from this forum?

By the way, Buddhism encourages debate as one of the best ways to understand the teachings.

In the non-christian religion sub forum. That your best bet to try to explain your religion without having the mods warn you.

depends on what it is... if you come in with the intent to prove that 'christianity is wrong and budhism is right' ... the mods might not like that in this section... but, being a 'morality' section if you want to prove that say... abortion is (acceptable or unacceptable), and use buddhist teachings to support it, I don't anticipate there to be any problems... to be safe, you might want to start out any post that you anticipate may be contraversial with a note to the mods saying something like "if there is a better place to post this thread feel free to move it." then they're more apt to moving the thread to the 'proper' place, rather than warning you for posting something improper.

(by the way, I've always agreed, debate is the best way to learn... it's a very proven fact that you retain MUCH more information by teaching the subject to someone else, therefore teaching is the best way to learn. So, in a debate, you are not only seeing multiple sides to the topic, but you're teaching your side... whether you're right or wrong, it doesn't matter, because if you are correct, you will prove it (at least to yourself) by taking alternate views into consideration... if you're wrong, you'll have an alternate view. either way, you learn.)

Whilst it is true this is a christian forum there are sub forums within it which, as I understand, permit debate and discussion on other religions and faiths.

http://www.christianforums.com/f76-non-christian-religion.html

This particular sub forum is used to debate matters of morality and philosphy such as a moral dilema posed by a member or a philosphical discussion. I would advise asking the moderators directly if you have any questions about what is appropriate to post in a particular sub forum on this site.
