It may help to understand what Inspiration is. If Inspiration worked the way most people seem to think it does then Paul would never say "I know in part." But he understood that he was limited in his understanding by his culture and background. We alll are inspired because this is the only way that the divine communicates with the human. It is not a magic wand but an open door.TrustAndObey said:You don't think Paul was inspired by God to write what he did?
Stormy, I know there are people out there that believe Paul is/was the antichrist....please tell me you're not one of those people.
Paul never walked alongside Christ because He never met the Christ. His claims are identical to ours.TrustAndObey said:I respect your opinion but I'll have to disagree. I don't think science or any other new development has made us understand God any more than Paul did. Paul had the great fortune of walking along side Christ, nothing any of us today can claim (unless spiritually of course).
No debates please. You may ask the other poster to debate this topic in a debate area of the site, but that debate cannot take place here.statrei said:Paul never walked alongside Christ because He never met the Christ. His claims are identical to ours.
Sure, happy to help clarify:StormyOne said:Could someone tell me the difference between "debating" and asking questions, and getting answers? Cause I have yet to see a debate here... I have seen some exchanges in ideas, but IMO no debate... so someone please help me understand the difference....
I did not see a Mod hat. Please clarify.PaleHorse said:No debates please. You may ask the other poster to debate this topic in a debate area of the site, but that debate cannot take place here.
Thank you,

If you believe this or any statements are in error you must take that discussion to a debate area if you do not have an Adventist icon.IAE, the statement only corrected an obvious error. This was necessary the unwary should be led astray. It would only turn into a debate if someone were to insist on defending the misinformation.

de·bate
Pronunciation: di-'bAt, dE-
Function: noun
: a contention by words or arguments: as a : the formal discussion of a motion before a deliberative body according to the rules of parliamentary procedure b : a regulated discussion of a proposition between two matched sides
Simply and operatively stated, this means that you may ask any question you wish in this forum, and once that question is answered the discussion is essencially over. If you disagree with any part of the answer then you can invite the responder to debate it in a debate area of the CF site - an area such as "Unorthodox Theology".
A fuller explanation is given by rnmomof7 here.
Sure, that's a fair request. It can be found here, post #34.StormyOne said:Thanks for the link.... I read that... I have stated several times that I am adventist... can you provide the link that says if I am not displaying the adventist ICON I cannot debate?
You should be careful not to take to yourself authority you do not have. The discussion, which is what it has been to this point, was proceeding civilly until this interjection. Let us consider this side trip ended and return to the discussion.PaleHorse said:If you believe this or any statements are in error you must take that discussion to a debate area if you do not have an Adventist icon.
No, I need no authority to point out the established rules of the forum. Don't confuse authority with duty.statrei said:You should be careful not to take to yourself authority you do not have. It is irrelevant how you define discussion or if you preceive it was proceeding in a civil manner or not, the rules are plain and establish what constitutes a discussion versus a debate/argument.
All I ask is observance of the rules that we all must follow.
It is indeed wonderful how the Christian spirit impels us to consider as dead those with whom we disagree and pronounce it to the entire world. For what purpose? Certainly, not to advance the kingdom of Heaven.SassySDA said:I'm glad I put him on my ignore list...he's been back, how long? And the same old, same old is starting already.

Given that she considers me as one dead, I may never know if what she means by the highlighted is the same that I and the majority of English speakers mean.SassySDA said:I admire your intelligence so much, and I enjoy the studies that you post here for us to look at and study for ourselves, look up the scripture, and take apart piece by piece if we need to, to help us learn...your time, my dear friend, is better spent on pursuits such as those.
First, you must decide they will never be worthy of your valuable Christian time. Just think of how much more Jesus could have achieved if He had an ignore button.NeverADullMoment said:How do you ignore someone?
