I've heard something similar to this. That junior members are told 'there is one deity' and those who are Christians, are allowed to believe this deity is God. It is not until the Mason reaches the highest level that they are informed his name is satan, and they must pledge their soul to him.jhessel said:not all freemasons are evil. Only the 33rd degrees are the ones that know the luciferian secret while lesser degrees are kept ignorant (not told to give up soul to lucifer).
This fits in with what we know too.karen_UK said:This is what I know of Masonry too.
Regarding Masonry as a Religion - The Entered Apprentice is introduced to God as the GAOTU (great architect of the universe). The Fellow Craft Member is told that JHVH is God's name. The Master Mason learns that he is still in the dark about the Lord's mystic name!
The Holy Royal Arch degree teaches that the Deity is composite (JAOBULON) - a many-headed idol-God conjured by the Prince of Darkness.
Masons are not "religious" in the way you are thinking There are Jewish masons and Christian masons. They believe in God but their meetings are not centered around any religious rituals.emmajane said:This fits in with what we know too.

My husband is NOT a junior mason and this is a lie..a fabrication..a untruth. No one talks about Satan in any capacity at these meetings. This is a charity based organization.emmajane said:That junior members are told 'there is one deity' and those who are Christians, are allowed to believe this deity is God. People seem to spread these misconceptions like wildfire, too, Sweetkitty.sweetkitty said:My husband is a mason..he is a godly man and there is no way he would be involved in anything that went against God or the word of God.
We read this thread last night and I confess we laughed till we cried over some of the things being said. The misconceptions are staggering and begger belief.
Perhaps he is not yet Holy Royal Arch Degree?sweetkitty said:My husband is NOT a junior mason and this is a lie..a fabrication..a untruth. No one talks about Satan in any capacity at these meetings. This is a charity based organization.

Or perhaps he is forbidden from telling you in case he has his throat cut and his tongue ripped out?
This would be my inkling based upon initial research. Apologies if this is a surprise to you, or if my research is all entirely wrong. I have found no evidence stating that Masons are Christian. I have found many sources stating that they worship Satan.
LOL..believe as you wish..I know my husband,I know what he is involved in..I am planning on letting my sons join the De Molay which is a masonic children's organization.emmajane said:Perhaps he is not yet Holy Royal Arch Degree?

It's the secrecy thing that drives people crazyPlan 9 said:People seem to spread these misconceptions like wildfire, too, Sweetkitty.
Even Pat Robertson has bought into some of these notions; he has some anti-Masonic material in one of his books.
Books featuring some of these myths sell very well, as long as they're both sensational and negative in nature.

Please provide the correct sources so I may educate myself.
And please let me know how the Lodge publication made such a blooper regarding Masonic view of the Bible.
Thanks
Most masons wouldn't agree with me. I feel most are kept in the dark about things and the truth comes out slowly in the degrees one achieves.Plan 9 said:My fine Southern Baptist relatives, many of whom are Masons, would not agree with you.
