Just finished:

The Art of Prayer by Timothy Jones.

Getting close to finishing:

A Generous Orthodoxy by Brian D. McLaren.
Damiano's Lute by R.A. MacAvoy. (fantasy fiction)

I've also got going:

Know Why You Believe by Paul E. Little.
The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning.

And of course, I always have the Bible going. The edition I'm reading through is The One Year Bible (NLT). For study, I prefer the ESV.

Thought-provoking, witty. It's a good read for people who like me who like to read heady stuff and have an undiagnosed touch of ADHD. It's a compilation of some of Dr. Trueman's articles, essays, speeches, etc. on a wide variety of topics. I'm through the first four chapters and it's kept my attention quite effectively.

He's solid theologically and he has an exhaustive knowledge and understanding of historical theology and church history (both of which he teaches at WTS-Philly).

ReThinking Worldview by J. Mark Bertrand and so far it is really challenging! I'm just hoping I can get through it and really understand his points! I love his illustrations and analogies and he weaves humor throughout. I've just started it so I have no conclusions as yet! I just hope to stay afloat!

Nonfiction:
The Truth War by John MacArthur. It's been a great read and I am almost finished with it. Anyone who wants to learn how to engage the Emerging Church movement should read this book.

Fiction:
The Binding of the Blade series by LB Graham. A great Christian based fantasy setting. It is a five book series and I am on number 3.

Star Wars: The Legacy of the Force series. I know it can be construed as a "young adult" book but I was a Star Wars fan before many of these young adults were born...

Whether you want to know about the Emergent church or not, you can get Why We Were Not Emergent by Two Guys that Should Be from monergismbooks.com. The books interaction with the emergent church and their defense of biblical Christianity is excellent. One of my best reads of the year.

Thanks, I'll add that to my list. I suspect I'll have some disagreements with it, but that usually doesn't stop me. I read lots of things I don't entirely agree with, and usually learn something from them.

"UnChristian" by David Kennaman and Gabe Lyons. Excellent book so far.

Recently finished "The Importance of Being Foolish" by Brennan Manning. Good book on personal Christian walk. Roman Catholic author. I like it, but due to the book above I'm starting to realize a difference in lifestyle versus relational redemption, and that's got me looking hard for a somewhat different book.

"Deserted by God?" by Sinclair Ferguson. Tough and too abstract to lend to young Christians who need it most. I'm trying to concrete it in, it's good stuff, but still too vague.

Reviewing ...
"Redemption Accomplished & Applied" by John Murray. I read it decades ago. When I read "The Imputation of Adam's Sin" about 5 years ago I realized Murray was speaking so precisely that I needed to reread "RAA" at some point. Now I'm taking it one overwhelming chapter at a time.
