By far, the highest concentration of voters in in the NYC area. The deep blue.

But some things have happened this year that has never happened before.

Thousands of people in the last six months have moved away.

There has been (from what I have seen) four large pro Trump events, the latest being a reportedly 50 mile long car caravan.

For the first time in a very long Time the NYC Police Union has openly endorsed the President, (that is several hundred thousand people represented including family etc.).

Now add that to the number of countries that flipped Republican in 2016

Counties that swung from Democratic to Republican
  • Broome (largest city: Binghamton)
  • Cayuga (largest city: Auburn)
  • Cortland (largest city: Cortland)
  • Essex (largest CDP: Ticonderoga)
  • Franklin (largest village: Malone)
  • Madison (largest city: Oneida)
  • Niagara (largest city: Niagara Falls)
  • Orange (largest town: Warwick)
  • Oswego (largest city: Oswego)
  • Otsego (largest city: Oneonta)
  • Rensselaer (largest city: Troy)
  • Richmond (coterminous with Staten Island, a borough of New York City)
  • Saratoga (largest city: Saratoga Springs)
  • Seneca (largest CDP: Seneca Falls)
  • St. Lawrence (largest town: Massena)
  • Suffolk (largest CDP: Brentwood)
  • Sullivan (largest village: Monticello)
  • Warren (largest city: Glens Falls)
  • Washington (largest village: Hudson Falls)

What if it flips? What message would that send to the Democrats?

And I'll counter with, what if Texas flips -- particularly since Texas has more electoral votes? With the difference being, the latest poll (done by Emerson) was a tie and even RealClearPolitics only gives Trump a 1.3% lead -- well within the margin of error. When you consider, in 2018, that Cruz polled 2% higher than he finished in the election, Democrats flipping Texas is an actual possible result.

New York flipping is a Republican pipe dream.

Even if NYC simply didn’t vote at all in 2016, Clinton still would have had a narrow win over Trump for the state. There is no way New York flips.

Given that Democrats are polling between +25 to +30 ahead, it would probably mean Republicans had been smoking something they shouldn’t, and are probably going to have a terrible head in the morning when they wake up.

People are leaving new york because of the impact a socialist-style governance has on its citizens.

As a result, it's likely republicans leaving - democrats love high tax, bad governance environments, they create them...

Ah yes, that poor governance that makes the money that then gets handed to poverty stricken red states..

I think you are confusing territory for the population. Many of those counties are small population-wise.

...so...all those red States are going to send that money they've been collecting over the years back to all those Democrat States that have been supporting them? Nice to know, any idea when those checks are going to be arriving?
tulc(would be interested in seeing that happen)

Modern conservatism was born in California, Reagan was the governor of California for two terms, and carried California in both of the Presidential elections that he won.

Biden is polling 30 points ahead there. Trump threatens NY, saying he will cut aid to decimate their police force.
I hope their representatives go down, too. Elyse ?, impeachment nightmare. Hope Peter King's seat turns blue.

Modern conservatism was born in California, Reagan was the governor of California for two terms, and carried California in both of the Presidential elections that he won.

And Reagan also carried that state farther into debt than any Governor previously...

He wasn't liked by everyone. For that reason alone. Many were worried about paying the money back.
