I just thought it would be a cool idea for customization, if there were an option that played the sound file in edit details whenever someone goes to any of your pages. This would be a neat feature.

IIRC they had that on the older version of the forum. It was like having a myspace page. My memory is a tad foggy though.

Yeah facebook came out. Facebook will die when something new comes out. Doesn't mean there weren't good things about them.

We all have opinions. I do remember this wonderful thing called pause that was attached to it. Also a stop button.

Bad things about music on web pages:
1. You have no control over what will play.
2. It downloads extra data (sometimes a significant amount), slowing down page load.
3. The browser plugin then has to be loaded ,slowing down page load even more.
4. It can be difficult to find the play/pause button and thus waste time trying to stop it.
Good thing about music on web pages:
1. It makes you feel like it's 1995 again?
Music on web pages that are not specifically designed to play music is jarring to the user, and almost all the time extremely annoying. It's even worse when the page doesn't provide a way to stop the music. I go to a web page for information. I do not go there to hunt around for 10-30 seconds to turn off the tacky music the web master thought was a good idea to put into their HTML.
Although it doesn't really matter anyway... There is so much more to be done to this site before anything like this is even considered!

Honestly I'd be more interested to know why the living avatar thing is still brokededed but that's another thread entirely. I am just saying myspace was good for what it did, it died facebook came along, now there will be something else soon. Opinions opinions opinions it's all very meh.
