Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” Genesis 1:29-30

Eating food in the Garden of Eden had a different purpose than it does for us today. In Paradise, nothing would ever starve to death and so eating was not required to maintain life. The Garden of Eden story is about the relationship between matter, food, and consciousness. This story explains how living things could live in a world without death.

So basically, you are saying something died at the tree?

Also, are you saying that the sun communicates through the fruit?

So, in other words, Eve took the life (knowledge) of that tree and, since it wasn't meant for her, it poisoned her's?

Hi, Thanks for your questions - but no I am not saying any of those things. I am saying that the fruit from the tree gave knowledge. This may seem strange at first but remember even today drugs give people "knowledge". The video set things out in a logical order and might be easier to "get" what I am trying to say. But anyway I am happy to try and answer your questions here.

So the fruit of that tree, didn't have seeds, so it must've killed the tree to eat the fruit...

It was not in season...the fruit was unripe...

Romans 1:20 we can affirm God's existence "by the things that are made".
Example: Genesis 2:17 It was a "tree" that gave knowledge of good/evil
So guess what the department of education symbol is? a tree

Example 2: techno(LOG)y and the reason why the log is in the word is to give knowledge/study. (logy = to study in greek)

Example 3: Industry = In dust tree
You'll start to realize that 1 of the oldest occupations is gardening and in our language the words within words are planting. (Mark 4:13-20)

Proving that Genesis 1 is correct.

It doesn't kill a tree to eat its fruit. The fruit may have been unripe - interesting thought.

It does if that is its only fruit (containing the seed)...otherwise it can't reproduce...I think. Or, unless the tree itself is also the fruit.

I wonder how many hallucinogens are from fruit. I would imagine that most are from other parts of a plant/tree.

I don't agree. Fruit in the Garden of Eden is an example of a food that can be eaten without anything needing to die. Eating fruit and planting its seed actually creates new life. Milk and honey don't involve death either and they were the foods associated with the promised land. And then there is Mana from heaven which didn't require anything to die to be food for something else.

Hello, W D Givens. Thanks for your post. One thing perplexes me though. You title this thread: What Happened at the Tree of the Knowledge of Good & Evil? Then you show a video titled the same. Yet your post, the title & the video don't talk about what actually happened at the forbidden tree!

What appears to be the actual topic is an explanation as to how living things could live in a world without death.

What actually happened at the tree was: disobedience to God & His command; deception & no longer trusting God nor her husband; the bondage of sin & death, both spiritual & physical, curses (in producing things from the ground, in pain in childbirth, etc.), corruption & decay of the universe; forfeiture of headship; idolatry & temptations now from used to be good, etc.

Also there is the aspect that food before the fall & the introduction of the law of sin & death, would still be necessary for reproduction & growth, just like in the millenial kingdom when Christ rules for 1000 years & people once again live to be around 1000 years & animals no longer eat one another.

Before the fall, man was given the task in the garden to till it & to keep it. Although trees were not killed, they still needed to be fertilized & pruned, as they would keep growing. The Father is mentioned as the vinedresser Himself & the purpose of pruning is to bear fruit, bear more fruit & bear much fruit.

Hi Mathetes66 -thanks for your comments. You make many valid points that are worth considering. When talking about work in the Garden it is good to remember that actual work was not given until after the fall. Before the fall Adam and Eve have the breath of God and the words they spoke had the power to create and this is how the tended the Garden. Thanks again for your reply - nice to hear your thoughts.
