Family is the focus of my life, and of late, I've been working toward strengthening the bonds. Last Christmas, one of our friends purchased a Wii console for the children since it was beyond our reach, and honestly, that contraption has helped us all have a lot of fun together - the Just Dance game has spurred on childhood innocence even in the adults. I would like to continue building relationship ties, and I'm wondering if any other parents out there have more suggestions.

We try to have a Wii family bowling night once a month or so. Good times. :D

Outside of Wii games or movie night, we also play regular board games (I solicited family members to buy some of the "classics" as Christmas presents last year). We also try and get outside and do things like shoot hoops or play baseball in the backyard.

Mario Kart is big fun for our family. We borrowed Boom Blox from a friend and the kids loved it so we may be adding it to our collection this Christmas. Also, like Faithprevails, we like bowling together.

The kids and I like to play board games but my husband is a turkey and won't play with us. His loss.

It seems like the Wii gives opportunity for family quality time "across the board".:)

Guesstures? Is that sort of like charades?

The kiddies and I had a blast a few nights ago jumping over "leaf mountain". Improvised by the children, it was a fun hour spent while we waited for dinner.

I started doing family portrait night when the weather doesn't cooperate. Well, we don't huddle up with crayons every time the weather's bad, but it makes for different conversation. It's interesting to see how they view the family.
