1 Corinthians 1:26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

Salvation does not depend on anything in man, of which they were living proof, so when someone is saved he must boast in the Lord, not in himself.
"things that are not" was a common phrase used by the Jews for the Gentiles.

To me it shows that God humbles everyone with weakness in one way or another

For me two things come to mind. First, that it describes me to a T, and in the view of an unbelieving world, it still does - as they cannot see His Spirit within. I would imagine this is true for all believers.

And secondly, that God loves us so thoroughly and to such an intimate degree, that He did everything He could to convince us that He understands and empathizes with us, such that we can thoroughly trust Him - by how He deliberately chose to humble Himself in the flesh:

Isaiah 53:1-4
"Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted."

What an awesome God!

Check out all of Isaiah 53 for the full measure of what He endured for us:

It's more than weakness, it's total inability of all mankind to extricate himself from his condemned condition--by nature, objects of wrath (Eph 2:3). We are born with our nature.

Amen, it sure does! Just as He deliberately chose to be humbled, so too do we deliberately choose to be fools for Christ! What a privilege to participate with Him to confound the "wise" of this age.

This passage begins in the previous verses. Paul tells the Corinthian church that God made a seemingly foolish choice in selecting them. By the standards of the society and world they lived in, they would be the unlikely choice. They didn't have impressive worldly wisdom (something that was regarded as important in their context), influence or nobility, Yet Paul drives home the point that God chose them, and this choice has a profound impact. It shames the wise, the strong, and those who relied on their social status. Because God's choice eliminates any room for boasting based on social circles, intellect or prominence. Paul isn't saying that wisdom, noble birth, or intelligence are bad things. Rather he's highlighting that these earthly things don't guarantee, righteousness, sanctification or redemption. The cross levels the playing field, putting everyone on equal footing. If the world looks down on the Corinthian believers for not having impressive accomplishments to boast about, Jesus offer more than makes up for it. Paul himself regarded his own status as dung. An intelligent Jew (taught under the esteemed Gamaliel), with an impeccable pedigree as a Jewish Benjamite.
It's only through Christ Jesus that they're considered righteous, holy, and redeemed. This is God's wisdom at work, leaving no room for boasting, since no one can achieve this status on their own. Only through Christ. So, they and us are encouraged to make our boast in Him.

Everyone is equal and teachers are examples as Peter said. They don't need to teach the word, but they need to live it and read it to the Church. Let Jesus teach.

Jesus has gifted us all with various gifts to edify each other. It would be unwise to not exercise the gifts God has given. So with the gift given to teach, preach, evangelize etc through the Spirit believers are compelled to do so, so the body is encouraged and matures.

Teachers were necessary in the beginning when people couldn't read or afford to buy scripture. They're actually unnecessary. I'll admit that a few people showed me some good scripture over the years that stayed with me. But overall the simple commands of Jesus and his apostles have guided me well and that's a promise from Jesus in Matthew chapters 5 and 7, and in John chapter 14.

This is a contradiction. Teachers didn't cease to operate. Your acknowledgement of their impact in your life confirms that Scripture's guidance on God gifts to believers remains relevant and valuable. The working of God through His body did not lose its significance simply because of your experience.

I'd rather have a balanced approach whereby I enjoy personal engagement with God and also collectively through his Body, by those through whom He works to explain and expound His word. So thereby gaining the collective wisdom and experiences and insights that God has to offer. And also likewise be used as a vessel to offer the same. But hey, if fellowship with the Head and not the Body works for you...

Jesus, John and Paul said to beware of teachers. Paul said that wolves would take over the church when he died. I see no contradiction in that.

The contradiction is in the statement you made that teachers are unnecessary, but then yet admitting that you were edified through this gift.

And it's beware of "false" teachers.

I was edified by scripture that people shared. That's what I said. Teachers are unnecessary. Scripture is my teacher.

So what does these scriptural passages teach you.
Ephesians 4:11-12, Hebrews 13:17

And the great commission
Matthew 28:19-20 also has within it the aspect of teaching. Or do we obey this mandate only in part.

Ephesians was speaking in past tense not the future like we are in now. Paul said that after his departure that savage wolves would come in and not spare the flock. Why don't God or Paul just send another apostle to replace Paul? Why did he instead give us this dire prophesy?

So either you are not obeying the entire mandate by teaching, regardless of the medium in this case. And by your own admittance this work is unnecessary.
